Feels like ages since I have been here!!

Tigerlily2007

Must try harder!!
Its really only 3 days since I last popped in but I have not posted for about 2 weeks, and what a couple of weeks it has been!!
I posted a thread a while ago after a certain incident with some Hot Cross Buns
(In case anyone wants to recap the thread was titled:
Eat the god damned cheese Samantha eat it!!!)

I was feeling particularly miserable because I had been signed off work for 2 weeks due to my 2 naughty prolapsed and ruptured discs in my spine causing me a hell of a lot of grief and unbelieveable pain!
Well, following another GP appointment I have now been signed off work indefinitley due to the significant deterioration in my condition
I can only walk just a few steps at a time with the help of crutches and sadly, I have had to cancel my holiday to Switzerland in May.
:sigh:
This past week has consisted of me making numerous phone calls and battling with hospitals, consultants, secretaries, cleaners, admissions people, porters, nurses, canteen staff and just about any other person who the hospital switchboard staff* randomly selected and
FINALLY I am going into hospital again on May 8th !!
:)
Apart from my triumph over the NHS it all sounds a bit doom and gloom doesn't it?? and those who read my sporadic posts will know thats not like me as Im a smiler, so...here is the silvery lining to the fluffy 'off white' cloud which is Samanthas life...
;)
Because of my reduced mobility I have not been able to indulge my fridges' evil desire to chant and coax me to the goodies within.
For me to walk/crawl to the kitchen takes too much time and effort so I have managed to stick to my diet really well the past few weeks...And...
:)
I have now slipped down from a 24 to a 22!!
I was a 30-32 when I started on February 27th 2007.
I have lost...
4in from my bust
6in from my waist
4in from my hips
3.5in from my thigh
and
4.5 in from my 'lower spare tyre' ;)
so... I am very proud of myself!
Yay!!

:) :) :)

*apologies if any NHS switchboard staff are reading this I'm sure you dont all transfer people to the wrong locations for the fun of it - its just the ones I happen to get.

Hope you are better soon - can't imagine that kind of pain!!!! Well done with the diet - losing weight can only be a benefit once you are mobile again.

Wow hun, well done on the weight loss! Sorry to hear about your back probs tho, and the cancellation of your holiday. Hopefully things will be sorted on 8th May.

I love your upbeat attitude too hun!
