Lactose intolerance

is anyone using a milk based VLCD while knowing they are moderately lactose intolerant. I know CD do a version which is based on soya'milk' but to be frank the less soya in my body the better. Do you take a suppliment to help your body digest the milk or do you simply grin and put up with the symptons of the lactose intolerance.

Many thanks .

Hello bellefrogette,

I'm not sure whether this will help you or not. About a year ago I developed lactose intolerance after a bout of Norovirus. - Which is quite usual ( although I was eventually able to tolerate normal milk but it would only be a little per day anyway) I found that cheese at times would cause me problems.

Exante does say that is is unsuitable for those on a lactose free diet but I have had no issues. Of course I wonder how my tolerance may be when I may get to the stage of reintroducing dairy again. Will I have been so long that it may cause issues? Watch this space ....

i have used lipotrim which i do not know if it includes milk subtitute and also exante. lipotrim i had no problem with whatsoever in that department, in fact, if were talking toilet problems here, i couldnt go and had the opposite affect. with exante i def did have problems but mostly with the bars. i cannot stomach milk as it makes me feel extremely sick and bad down below but can eat cheese sometimes for some reason.

im sure it depends upon the individual on how you react to these things but thought id share my experiences lol (however yukky that might be)..sorry!
