Extra Easy Days Devastated

had my 2nd WI last night and was devastated to have gained the 1 1/2 that I lost the first week. My consultant said that I don't eat enough even though I've eaten more than ever before. Now I'm confused:confused:

I have had 2 poached eggs with baked beans and cherry toms for breakfast today instead of my usual fruit and yoghurt.

I'm making syn free soup for my lunch and cooking stirfry beef with tons of veg and noodles for dinner. If i'm hungry between meals I would normally have some fruit or a muller light yoghurt.

Trying to do the EE PLAN. Am I doing it wrong?????????????:sigh:

Hi tomsamkev,

Just looking at your diary for today it seems that you haven't had any of your healthy extras (still should have an A & B on EE) or any syns.....maybe thats what the consultant means by not eating enough? You could add some cheese into your baked beans as an A and have some bread with your soup as a B to incorporate these.

With the syns you must have them otherwise your body thinks its on shutdown, treat yourself to sauces on your meals, or a small treat in the evenings (I try to save 5 syns for the evening for a choc bar when I watch the soaps!)

Hope that helps

Claire :)

Did you do a food diary last week? Maybe you can share it with us on here?
The thing with EE is that you have to have a lot of super free foods to make it work, maybe you weren't having enough super free foods?
Perhaps it's a time of the month, or sometimes one can gain for no good reason but will lose it all again the following week.
What you're panning to eat today sounds fine to me x

thanks ladies....i'm using my HEA for milk in coffee but don't drink enough to use it all. I have never eaten bread really but will use it as my HEB at lunchtime as you suggested. My consultant hasn't said how many syns to have...do you just choose your own amount between 5-15 or can they be saved up to have as alcohol at the weekend?

Hi tomsamkev,

There are loads of different things you can use as your B choice, choose from the list in your book but make sure you have one :) - they help increase fibre intake!!

You can save your syns but previously I was told it is advisable never to save more than 5 per day so have 5-10 each day.

Hope that helps :)

If you're not having enough milk, then perhaps look at a different HE a choice - like cheese, for example. It's important to have enough as you need your As and Bs - HE B doesn;t have to be bread either. Maybe buy some Hi FI bars at class, one of those is a HE B for instance.

As for syns, different consultants seem to have a differing opinion - some say you need to have a minimum of 5 a day, and others say you can save them all up and have a blow out.
What *I* try to do is have some each day, but I also save them up and have wine on a weekend. It's whatever works for you really, and there will be a bit of trial and error to being with as you work out how your body works within the plan x

Are you eating enough superfree foods as well - have a look back & make sure you are having enough of them, and as for syns, I agree - try to make sure you have at least 5 per day, they are given to you for a reason & not having them can affect your losses.

Good luck for the next WI though!

Just to add to all the answers above...

If you do have bread make sure it's 2 slices wholemeal from the 400g loafs.

Also you should be snacking on superfree foods when hungary between meals and 1/3 of each meal should be super free.

For my syns i have tried the 'saving up' method and i cant get away with it! I just have 6 vodka diet cokes (at 2.5 syns each) for a weekend night to have all my syns. By all means try the saving method but just to point out this does not work for everyone.

Good luck with your WI

xx

I agree with the others...you need to eat a lot more of the superfree foods in order for the EE plan to work for you.

I didn't realise that you had to have some syns each day, I tried slimming world before and didn't lose very much, but I would also not have my HE's either!! Better follow it properly this time, will be easier now I am on this site too :)

Can you give us an example of what you ate last week where you had the gain, as it will be easier for us to offer advice where you can improve areas.

However if you were only eating a yoghurt for breakfast, I can already see by that, that your consultant is most definatley right and you were not eating enough.

This is a really old post. Haven't seen the OP around for a long while now!

To Charmangel - yep have your syns and HEX's, otherwise you are not following the plans properly. Good luck hun.

I can easily skip some of my HEXs and not notice, it's something I'm really trying to change at the moment, last night I ate a little lump of cheese before bed because I remembered I need to have an A!
