Question: Lipotrim V Cambridge Diet

Hi everyone

I was hoping that you wonderful people could help me out with this one, I was wanting to start a VLCD and was thinking about Lipotrim as I have heard some good success stories, However, after looking on the forum I was wondering what the Cambridge diet was like in comparison to Lipotrim. eg Weightloss, Shakes etc.

I am getting a little confused and can't decide which one to go for. Cost is an issue as well. Does CD cost the same as Lipotrim?

Many thanks

hi chocolate, I have tried both in the past and def would advise CD. Lipotrim has 3 flavours of shake vanilla, choc and strawberry - CD has lots of flavours to keep you from getting bored! It also has porridge which LT doesnt have. If you want more info, check out the CD website (just google it), not sure about cost as it seems to vary wherever you are xx

Thanks Skinnimini,

I have looked on the website and decided to go for the CD! I have arranged my first appointment for two weeks time (due to 2 family functions coming up!). I am so looking forward to starting!! xx

Good choice Amy, I def found that there was little competition btw the two - v difficult on LT as you couldnt chew anything, lol! Also check out the new you diet N.Ireland (google it - not sure of address), its actually gd too and you can email julie-ann with any questions about the diet which is nice too, let her know emma told you about diet, she is lovely xxxxx

Hi Chocolate.. Def CD, as you get a consultant to talk to, weigh you and advise you and like skinnymini said, the choices are vast too with CD.. xx

I've done both and without any question CD tastes much better and has a greater range ie porridge, bars and if you are on the go also tetra packs however there are a couple of advantages of LT
1. The taste is so awful that you just want to get it over with so personally I was much more disciplined - something about getting it over and done with)
2. LT is available through the NHS. It is not free but at a reduced price (last year it was £21 per week compared with pharmacy price of £36) You can either get a referral from the GP to a local centre where they weigh you and provide basic CBT or if there isn't a centre in your area then certain GP's have an arrangement with Lipotrim and provide it directly and the GP oversees it. Compare this to approx £38 for Cambridge.....

Hope that helps, final comment is with LT the person "overseeing"you does not necessarily have any idea of following the diet whereas all CD councellors have followed it.
