What are your losses like?

Hi all,

I read the atkins book a while ago but never actually tried the diet. I found myself a little scared to try it.
Just out of curiosity, what are peoples weekly losses like on this diet?:)

Well I'm on maint now but back on induction I lost 3-5 lbs a week on average, when I moved inot OWL it was a steady 2lbs a week with the odd stall or whoosie of about a 5lbs loss.

Why were you scared to try Atkins? I've never been healthier, loads of lovely leafy green veggies, no processed food at all hardly. It's a very healthy way of eating, my BP ad blood readings are perfect now, and my annual medical is a raging success according to my Dr.

I have lost just over 2 stone in 7 weeks so thats an average of 4lbs per week on induction. Its a very steady loss & the healthiest way to eat... give it a try! xx

and then there is me.
i dont lose anything for weeks then i lose 1lb.. and that fluctuats for a while! lolz im a terrible example but i keep trotting along! this beats other diets ive tried!

I have lost 2 stone since sept 19th

xx

The reason I'm scared to try it is, I think, because I find it hard to get my head around eating high fat and losing weight. I guess it goes against all we've been taught for so long (as the book points out!)

Yes we need to lose the old 'low calorie diet' thinking. So don't sweat it, just try it, without prejudice or fear, and let the results, and feelings of new energy and health and loss of severe food cravings, speak for themselves.

Good luck if you do decide to give it a proper go!

Ah yes, the ingrained I mustn't eat fat and I have to starve to lose weight. Yes, that is hard to get over love.

I've (unfortunately) put on a pound this week :( BUT I have been slipping on being strict over the last week, so it's give me a kick up my baggy behind to get back on track, and not take the diet for granted! So back on track for me :)
