Can I split a tetra brik?

Hey everyone - just wondered if I could open a tetra and have half and put the other half in an airtight container and put it back in the fridge to drink 2 hours later?

Its because I am really struggling to get this restart restarted and I know I can split my powder shakes just wondered if I can do it with tetras so at least I can have the diet every 2 hours rather than ending up face down in the biscuit barrel as has happened the last few days!!!!

Hey Jessica, I think you will be fine as long as like you say it goes in an air tight container. How are you getting on?
 
not too bad ta - just about to have the other half of my shake as Ive decided to split them and have them 2 hrly to see if I can stay on track that way.

Off to tesco in a mo tho to pick up a few things and will resist going to the cake counter!!!!

will be back in abit - hope you are doing ok and well done on your first WI

I've re-started too, good to see you back on, in the nicest way of course :). I split my powder shakes too,my breakfast one then haave the other half when i'm cooking dinner at 5ish, tends to keep the hunger at bay and saves me picking :).

Sounds like a good plan, anything to keep you going.

I have not managed a trip to the supermarket yet, don't think I could handle it, my boyfriend will have to go for himself.

Hey nikki - nice to see you back too.

Well Im pleased to say I did resist the cake counter and now I have a mountain of ironing to do so will be back later.

Sadly cant split the tetra due to the vits - which I didnt think I could but it was worth a try.

Keep going everyone we can do this.

Sticking my neck out here and removing my 'official' advice hat, but I'm sure you can split them.

There is the thought that leaving shakes for more than the max time can cause a slight reduction in vits, but it's only 'might' and 'a tiny'. The main concern is that the texture and tastes change. Never anything said about the tetras doing the same

In the olden days it's was always thought that it was just vits and minerals deteriorated with the shakes and most CDCs said this. But thoughts have now changed.

The tetras don't appear to have a texture or taste change and I always split them, though did drink the 2nd half within 24 hours.

Puts 'official hat' back on :)

Thanks KD. :D I don't split them that often, but it's nice to know that it can be done (unofficially, of course ;)).
