Hello diary

A little about me: I'm in my mid 20's, I've struggled with my weight since my teens. Been as small as a size 8 and as big as a size 16 (which is what I am now) and I know being smaller transforms my life. It's the best thing I could ever do for myself, so tis about time I did it!

I'm really looking forward to the summer - I want to be able to wear summer clothes for a change! Every single year once the weather starts warming up I feel sooo depressed because everyones got their skimpy lil skirts and tops on and theres me covered head to toe in black - not this year!

Also really motivated because of an ex. Although he said he liked the way I looked because I'm still very hourglass - I think hes a superficial git and I'd love to see the look on his face when I get back to a size 8, but mainly I want to be healthy, I want to live a normal life (I shut myself away because of the weight gain) and I want to be happy. Looking forward to this journey!

I started on tuesday, 9lbs lost already! But I'd like my offical weigh in day to be friday.

Also going to be keeping my food diary here, otherwise it gets too confusing. The past couple of days I think I've been undereating, but I'll get back to normal today. My meals are very boring by the way - I'm on a tight budget.

Day 1

Breakfast:
One wholemeal toast (b) omelette, cheese (a)
Dinner:
Syn free chips, 2 tsps butterlicious (3) spinach, cherry toms, 2 eggs, salad cream (2.5)
Snacks:
Muller fruit yoghurt (6) cous cous, 'pancakes' skimmed milk (a)
Syns:
11.5

Day 2

Breakfast:
1 nimble toast (1st half b)
Lunch:
2 nimble toast (2nd half b) , 2tsp butterlicious (3 ) 1 egg, cheese (a)
Dinner:
Syn free chips, 2 eggs, cheese (6) tomato ketchup (1) mushy peas
Snacks:
Dairylea triangle (a)
Syns:
10
2a and 1b - needs to be the other way around?

Day 3

Breakfast:
Bitesize shredded wheat (b) skimmed milk (a) banana
Snack's:
Scrambled egg, spinach, orange
Lunch:
3 nimble bread (a) marge (3) banana
Dinner:
Syn free chips, egg, cottage cheese .. i was sure I had more syns, but I cant remember! Will need to log this every day because my memory is terrible

Day 4

Breakfast:
3 nimble toast (b), 1 boiled egg, 2 tsps marge (3)
Dinner:
Pasta, veg, 28g cheese (b) 3 dairylea (a) Skimmed milk (a)

Day 5

Breakfast:
3 nimble toast (b) scrambled egg, cheese (a) 2 tsps marge (3)
Dinner:
Pasta, veg, 28g cheese, skimmed milk (a)

I'm obviously not having enough, so I'll put more effort into logging everything and eating a bit more.

I'm feeling pretty good! I think I've finally found a plan that I'll be able to stick to :D. I'll probably be doing mainly green days, so I'll be able to limit the amount of meat I eat which is something I've wanted to do for a while, hey maybe I could go veggie eventually.

Day 6

Breakfast:
Toast (b) cheese (a) skimmed milk (a)
Lunch:
Stir fried noodles (3)
Dinner:
Jacket potato, baked beans (b) cheese (6) marge (3)
Syns:

Just done some online shopping, so hopefully I'll get a lil more variety from tomorrow!​

you sound very focused and determined! Keep it up!
Good target for the summer too, I too just wanna look good in something other than a huge winter coat and a bunch of layers!
 
Thanks SkaterBoy, yeah just imagine how much better we'll feel being close to target for a change! Theres so much to do in the summer and I'm not missing out this year.

So I had an unexpected visitor on my doorstep the day before yesterday (my ex) I stupidly let him in, and let him stay over! This is why I had 24 unexpected syns. I've decided to allow myself 12 syns a day for now, then lower it to 10 in a month or so? I kind of wish there'd be more guidelines when it comes to syns - its the only negative thing I have to say about slimming world. Would be good if you got a syn allowance based on height and weight maybe.

I'm guessing a few people have flexi syns like I did on tuesday, I'll try to save them or stay within my daily allowance in future! I'm wondering if 12 is too much, I've noticed alot of people have 10, but I'm concerned about lowering once I reach a plateau .. maybe I should just get on with it and stop worrying!


Day 7
I cant remember! Something like toast and pasta I think, extra cheese for syns - I really need to start logging this every day. I would have been well under syns for the week though.

Day 8

Breakfast:
Shredded wheat (b) skimmed milk (a)
Snack:
Mini milk (1.5)
Lunch:
Plain nimble bread (b) 2 bananas
Dinner:
Syn free noodles, cheese (a)
Rose wine = 24 syns :eek:
Syns:
25.5 - need to make 13.5 back

Day 9

Breakfast:
2 quorn sausages, toast (b)
red sauce (2)
Lunch:
Cheese (a) omelette, spinach, mushrooms, muller light
Dinner:
Two quorn sausages, 3 nimble bread (8.5) fried egg
Syns:
10.5 - syns to make up 12

Day 10 -
no syns allowed

Breakfast:
Syn free pancakes, summer fruits, 0% greek yoghurt
Lunch:
Mushrooms on toast (b)
Dinner:
3 laughing cow (a) syn free chips, syn free curry with quorn pieces - yum! lol I even left 1/4 of the plate, I normally force myself to finish everything, but I felt soo full and it wasnt even a huge portion.​

Bloated

I'm feeling very bloated today - I look pregnant! The scales have gone up 2lbs and I'm feeling a bit hmph :cry:. I'm blaming the wine. Maybe I should only have wine if I save the syns first or just stay within my allowance. I mean, theres no way you'd be able to have a normal bottle of wine without saving syns. Ah I guess its just trial and error because I've seen alot of people post about saving syns over the week, and others stay within their allowance. I might look into other drinks, but I need to be able to drink atm because I just dont enjoy myself when I go on nights out if I dont. And at 24 - I'm not ready to give up my social life. Rant over :wave_cry:

Hmm on a plus point, maybe its the lack of water. I've probably been having about 3-4 glasses a day and usually when I'm on a 'diet' I have at least 8 glasses.. Gulp gulp.​

Mini quiche, 4 baby spuds, beetroot, pickled onions, spinach and cucumber with cottage cheese, cheese (a) marge (1.5)
Snack:
Mini milk (1.5) love these!
Dinner:
1 quorn sausage, cottage cheese, nimble bread (b) quorn rashers
Water:
8-9 glasses
Syns:
3 - (9 extra for the week)​

Day 12

I drank more water yesterday, was 2 lbs down again this morning, so no loss so far, hopefully by tuesday! Pleeeease diet gods! ;)

What a night! I'm not having much luck with men lately - I seem to be attracting nutters. A guy I've been on two dates with turned up outside my house when I'd told him not to, banging on the door and windows, trying to open my front door and kicking the watering can into my car park, he didnt leave for about 40 minutes and he really creeped me out! Luckily I was super tired so fell asleep pretty quickly.

I'm pretty happy with slimming world, I'm just hoping I'll be able to lose the weight while eating like this, because it seems too good to be true! I'm gonna have some wine tonight, so wont weigh myself until tuesday.​

Dinner:
syn free pizza, made with smash (someone said smash is free, hoping it is!) quorn chicken pieces, sweetcorn, mushrooms, onion, cheese (ax2) salad cream (2)
Wine (18 ARGH)
8 glasses of water
Syns: 21 - ouch! (only allowed 2 syns monday)​

Okay so drinking 3 days in a week isnt the best thing for weight loss, so I'm going to limit that this week, up the exercise and save syns or dont use them! Grr​

Monday

Okay so I went up a lb today - I'd like to change my weigh in to wednesday cos it makes more sense with saving syns and the weekend water retention from alcohol! I posted a thread in another section about why I gained and someone pointed out that its only 2 nimble bread as a healthy extra not 3, so thats 17.5 extra syns I didnt know I was having! Aarghh! :eek::eek::eek:

I've not been very hungry today and I've only had one hexb, not sure what else to have :confused: ryvita maybe but should you eat if youre not hungry? Better planning tomorrow! Maybe I should get this diary moved to the food diary section.

Tuesday
Breakfast: 2 nimble bread (b) 1 quorn sausage, cottage cheese, beetroot
Snack: muller light
Dinner: small jacket spud, cheese (a) spinach, tomato, cucumber, pickled onions, boiled egg, salad cream (2) marge (3)
skimmed milk (a) but only had one cup of tea so didnt use much milk!
Water: 8 glasses
Syns: 5 .. new diet week tomorrow because of changing my weigh in day to weds.
