I'm so despondent, STS again

Hi Ladies,

Well after me needing to polish my halo on Wednesday I WI this morning (I follow the plan alone) and I have STS again, for the 2nd week running :confused:

Now I am thinking there could be 2 things:

1) that I am "saving" some of my syns and using them for alcohol at the weekends, whilst trying not to exceed 105 a week, or

2) that it is * week where I usually put on 2-3lb.

I have started my week again today, I have all of my meal plans in place and am ready to start afresh, I have an afternoon/evening girlie day out next Saturday with my cousins and friends so I am going to try and use 5 syns a day and flexi syn for drinks on Sat and try and work up to 70 per week rather than 105.

I just feel so despondent when I was so good & resisted the urge to eat all the rubbish food in sight & I didn't even lose this week :mad:

Sara I really feel for you. :sigh: I would seriously consider the *week being to blame as I can gain 3 or 4lbs that week, so if you look at it like that you've probably lost. Well done on sticking with it I'm sure you will lose next week try not to let it get you down though easier said than done I know.

It could be the alcohol (aka liquid cake!) or something else that you're underestimating in your syns! Are you keeping a food diary? I find it really helps me! You may however have a pattern to your weight loss and it might be that next week you have a big loss! That seems to be the way for me- a couple of small ones then a big one! Everyone's different! But (and far be it from me to preach) drinking a fair bit of alcohol (even if you are saving your syns) could definitely slow your losses down!X

It's not the alcohol as I measure everything out (we have a 25ml measure) so I can keep tabs on what I am having, I do keep a food diary and I have been really good this week apart from drinks on Friday & Saturday.

I suppose I will just keep to plan this week and see what happens next week.

Please don't be despondent. It does happen.
When I first re-joined SW I STS for 2 weeks after losing 4 pounds the first week. I was gutted as I stuck to plan 100%. It does happen and you will lose.
I am almost sure that it must be the * week, so if it were not for that you would have a loss.
It may be the alcohol, as some people don't have weight losses when they drink. It's fine with me, luckily, but not everyone is.
Just stick to plan, and you will do just fine!
 
If you are using most of your syns the day before WI, this may affect it? Have you considered changing WI day?
 
Uve got similar stats to me in how much weight u need to lose and im in exactly the same boat. I think the only reason i lost 5 pounds one week was cus it was the week after my *. I really hope i lose this week or i will cry lol
 
I changed my weigh in day to a Saturday morning. The reason for this is i always drink alcohol Saturday night. Sunday morning i work out how many syns i used and then equally divided up what i have left for the next 6 days. Its working for me mayb change your weigh in day to friday say?

Thanks for your messages, yes I think I will change my WI day to a Friday, that way I will know how many syns I can have for the rest of the week after the weekend. I probably won't see that much of a loss next week then (if at all) but future weeks should be better.

I see from your profile that you don't have a massive amount to lose (I'm in somewhat the same boat). I had a phone call from my Consultant this weekend after a 0.5 lb gain last week and she said to try and stick to 10 Syns a day (70 per week) and see if that shifts anything.

It was * week for me as well so hopefully that's it!
