Has anyone with dark hair even gone lighter? I'd love blonde hair but no I can't ever reach a full blonde colour.

I'd love this colour, what do you think?

i've tried it several times, not very successfully cos i'm too impatient and don't like the in between stages, but if u only want to go to that colour i'm sure you can do it fine, use a lightener all over and you hair will end up a red colour, then wait a few days with a deep condition in between and do it again. You will get a horrible yellow brassy colour, then use a toner or dye over it with the colour you want, to avoid the brassy look, pick something with ash and cool tones.

i do it!! naturally very dark brown currently got wraps in and am blonde

however going back to deep brown on wed
why???

i go swimming 5 days a week, and the gym as well. so the blond looks greasy yet dry and unless i dry it properly and straighten it.

Thanks guys, still considering it.
Im going t get my hairdreser friend to do it as last time I tried to dye my hair lghter it went orange lol

Hello!

I STUPIDLY dyed my blonde hair dark and hated it. I'm now on my 4th lot of highlights, which has only got the top layer of my hair mid-blonde, and the rest is still dark (I have extremely thick hair though)

My sister also tried to go from dark to blonde herself with home kits with disastrous consequences, so if you want to do this, I strongly recommend going to a salon.

I'd love to go blonde too, Doodle. I'm a very dark brown. But I'm also scared it wont suit me lol.

Yeah Im really dark too and am really unsure about it now, thinking I might just have a few highlights put in

I use those £8 kits for highlights and they're really good. Saves alot of money from salon and no one notices the difference .

Hey Doodle,

I'd suggest lighter brown highlights, it gives the effect of a more natural sun kissed look, and along with block colours is really fashionable at the moment. We did a girls hair in the salon last week who has very dark brown hair, put a high lift blonde tint in foils just on the top layer but didn't leave it so long, and it came out a gorgeous golden brown and looked really classy.

Try Sallys Salons they do all the products they use in salons but a cheaper prices and it's the correct stuff u need.
