Exercise?

When can I start exercising slowly? Just a few step things or an exercise DVD? I want to try and avoid flabby arms etc. I am also hoping to get fit enough to run 1 or 3 miles at the harefield fun run in september. the last 2 years I have walked the mile with the girls, but am hoping that Peter will be well this year to take the girls on the mile by himself, and for me to run it.

I started walking a bit further from the start but gentle......I now am upping my walking. They do say you dont need to exercise, but I think we all do start after a week or 2 after starting the diet.
I now do walking, eliptical trainer and resistance bands, oh and weights for the bingo wings from hell.

The key is to listen to your body, as soon as you feel it stop......dont go over the top.

I was told not to exercise for the first 2 weeks. After that I joined a local aerobics class, I go 1 sometimes 2 times aweek, I also go swimming a couple of times a week and I've bought a stepper, however not so motivated with that, its gathering dust:eek:

I was a bit scared to exercise at first, because of the few calories we are living on, but found doing the exercise gives me more energy. I would take it easy to start with and gradually build up, you'll know if your doing too much.

Good luck

I was told no aerobic exercise for the first 2 weeks but gentle toning exercises are ok... I use resistance bands for the arms and have taken up yogalates (DVD which combines yoga and pilates so u get all the relaxation of yoga, and all the core toning of pilates), which I find really relaxing, plus it makes me feel energised and tones me up all at once!
