Ok, I have been having a really bad week with my IBS beating me up and I've just thought - when was the last time I went for a run? It was ages ago.. literally about 6 months ago!!! So I pulled on my running gear and I've just took the dogs out for a 3k run and I feel so much better and revitalised! Going to do the same tomorrow.

I thought I would start a thread where we can talk about the exercise we are doing and support each other and maybe inspire people that have been afraid to exercise into starting.

I've only lost 16lb so far on LL but at 18 stone on January 1st I wouldn't have dreamed of running 3kms!

So what exercise do you all do or have planned? I'm going to do another 3 kms on Thursday for sure!

:D

I think you're mad. But well done, what ever makes you happy!

My best mate is doing the great south run in October. So I have been told I have to go support her. No worries, I shall not be running. I shall stand on the side lines and cheer her on.

In all seriousness though, I do need to work on some kind of fitness cus to be honest, I am useless at the moment.

Due to osteoarthritis in both knees and bottom of spine I have to be careful for now.
However I intend to do a programme on my wii fit + as this lets me do it at a pace suitable.
I know as I lose weight my knees will get better so can't wait for time I can go out for 4 mile walk which up to a year ago did twice a day, this is actually one of my first few goals to walk 4 mls comfortably.
Janey xx

I joined the gym before starting LL and had worked up to burning 800 cals 4 times a week. I've been twice a week in both weeks that i've been on LL but am struggling with it. First time i went i thought i was going to be sick so have lowered the intensity and time that i exercise. I'm currently only able to do about 300 cals and am hopeing my energy will return soon. It's funny because apart from the gym i'm loads more energetic than usual, i just don't have the reserves to do as much while on this i suppose.

The general advise given is to work up to excercise. Because you are not taking on as many calories as you have in the past you can't expect to be able to have the energy to loads and loads!!

I do wonder though, if you do too much excercise, can it make you sick? Like as in physically? I ask because when I did LL last time, I went to a gig and was jumping around like a loon (cus that is what Bekimo's do bestest!) When I got home, I made a shake, drank it, and was promptly sick. Was this because I overdid it? Because if it is, I am worried. I am going to see Rammstein in a week's time, for those of you who do not know, Rammstein are a German Metal band and very very energetic! I shall be bouncing a lot. I do not want to be sick again. I dislike being sick.

I have signed up to do the Edinburgh marathon as part of a relay so have to run 5 miles

Its in May so i should really be training now!! If anyone lives in the Edinburgh area and fancies a running pal let me know :D

Maybe just try starting to go for a walk or mess around on the Wii if you have one, they are always good for a giggle!

4 miles! wow Janey that is fab! My knees have stopped hurting already its such a great feeling!

Have you thought about doing some aqua aerobics or yoga to help your back? My mum has the same complaint and she does these classes every week and she loves them!

Aww hun dion't be hard on yourself, your body doesn't have the reserves it used to to recover and keep going - it needs to get used to the calorie intake that you are having and adapt - and that can take quite a long time, perhaps try and do some strength/toning exercise between cardio sessions to give your body a rest?

Oh poppet, I hate throwing up, I always end up crying!! Make sure your pulse has slowed to a normal resting rate before you eat anything - you wouldn't eat a meal after a big gym session! Just sip at water until your body feels completely relaxed and make sure you have your food really slowly xx

Wow sweet! That is fab!! good for you!

Well I have just been for another 3km run after my WI, I am starting to have energy and I'm feeling a little edgey or antsy if I don't get rid of it! Took the edge off it though and feel more relaxed! x

I might go for a swim tomorrow :D
