Water Problem

Hi everyone. To those who know me - I'm back and to everyone else, "hi" :wave_cry:.

I restarted for the millionth time yesterday, so been 100% for 2 days now which is pretty damn good for me:D.

Anyway, with the amount of times I'd done CD you'd think I'd know the answer to this boring question, but ............... is it ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL that I drink the 4 pints of water each day? You know, "the more you drink the more you shrink" - is this REALLY true?

I was doing 3 ltrs of water a day last time and it put me off the diet a bit to be honest, but the reason is ask is becasue I have a bit of a problem and I am having an operation within the next 6 weeks. I really shouldn't be drinking this amount of water in a day. So, am I wasting my time trying to lose weight for the op. by not drinking the water, or in all honesty, does it not make that much of a difference?

I know we need the water to replace the water naturally present in the food we eat, so just want to know if I'll still lose weight.

Hi hun, welcome back to the madness! :D

You have to have the 4 pints of water (2.25 litres) - that's the minimum. But there's absolutely no need to push beyond that and try and get 4 litres down.

It just isn't true that the more you drink, the more you shrink. So if I were you, I'd get guzzling on the 4 pints of water, and view any cups of tea / coffee as a bonus. :)

Well done for the 100% day  (it took me quite a few attempts to manage that on my latest restart!)

Just read your post properly (doh!) and saw the bit about the operation (how did I miss that??).

You'll need to come off the diet in the run up to the op. anyway - not sure how long for - hopefully a CDC will drop in to advise.

Maybe if you shouldn't be drinking that much water, you should p'raps try one of the higher plans - so that at least other fluids (like squash etc) would count as your fluid intake?

Tricky one... To do SS, you really do need the water to wash the ketones (by products of burning fat) out of your system. Otherwise, you're likely to put a lot of strain on your kidneys - which by the sound of it, p'raps isn't a great idea?

Honestly, I don't know. I don't get the recommended and still have good losses, but I really struggle to drink and have never been a big drinker, of anything, let alone water.

I also struggle with the water, I didn't lose much last time and my consultant says is the water, and asked me to drink 4L and she guaranteed me a big loss in the scale next week.I have inch loss but she says all the toxins need to be flushed hence the water

You do need to consume a good amount of water because you're missing out on water gathered from the food we eat. Regarding CD and Operation, you should tell your Diet Consultant as I'm not sure you can do CD right up to that point and then you have to have a 3 month gap after it before you can start again.

ugh. hate drinking the water but just keep glugging, it soons adds up to 3lts.
