I was wondering if any one who has done tfr has kept the weight off successfully or is it a vicious circle of weight loss and gains as soon as u come off lipotrim because there seem to be alot off restarters! i for one have done tfr 3 times and am considering it again as ive put all the weight on i lost and some more! is it a quick fix like all my family and friends keep tellin me or are there any success stories! i know we're all different but te weight does seem to go bk on as quick as it comes off!

tbh the only reason people put it back on is because they hadnt got there head in the right place afterwards. its not a quick fix its just the same as if your to lose weight on any other diet. people think that because its all shakes etc that its different but its not. if your 8 stone and youve lost 5 stone. your still 8 stone no matter what diet you do you get me? i think the only reason it goes on quicker with people doing tfr diets is because it comes off so quickly some people dont have enough time to get there head in the right place. once your heads in the right place youll be fine. people must remember that youc ant go back to the way you used to eat you have to have everything in moderation. some people dont remember that. also some people just put it back on over time which makes sense or after having children you know. but getting your head in the right place is a main key to this diet and some people dont remember to think about it! xx

i think u just need to reflect on why u are doing the diet in the first place and when u come off it to make sure u dont back to eating like u used to. all diets help u to lose weight but none helps u keep it off. thats all done to u.

i agree with the fact that if i lost the weight i wanted to then just went back to my old eating habits i would be back to square 1 before i knew it with there being no food involved in this diet it gives me time to plan how and what i shall eat when Ive reached my goal weight, i lost 13lb my 1st week mainly fluid and glycogen's (i think its call that) which i would assume i d put back on as quick as i lost it then i suppose it would be all down hill from there .The re feed and eating habits are as important for susses as is the TFR.

Its also self contol if you have a problem with portion control as soon as you come off lipotrim you havent reducated your self because you havent been in contact with food you think you have well i did but when your out of the comfort zone off tfr its a different story!

Great post Matt. I'm coming towards the end of my TFR and am starting to look ahead to facing food again. I'm reading loads - just finished "How Not To Get Fat" by Ian Marber, and starting Paul McKenna's "I Can Make You Thin".
Both are very anti diet, but both make really interesting and useful points about controlling our eating for life. Scary but the help is there if we look for it.

Hi, I know when i did lipotrim TFR the first time I really believed that I had it sorted and would be slim forever.

I dont like the way lipotrim do the refeed and maintenace, like I did lipotrim for 13 weeks and then all of a sudden one week the shakes are taken off you and away you go into the world.

The lipotrim maintance shakes are rank and totally different to what you are used to. I think this is lipotrims biggest failure.

The cambridge diet allow you to gradually introduce foods and have a longer strategy, so you still use the same shakes and you start eating healthy foods.

I am on the New You Diet now and it has a wider range of meal choices so that you really feel like you are eating real food, and you can use these products when you get to maintenance. I think this is a big key to success is to have a period of 2-3 months after TOTAL food replacement, where you are still have some meal replacements.

I have asked a lot of people who have been successful in keeping it off and I think the main things you need to do are...

1. Do a long refeed still using meal replacements and counting every calorie of food.
2. Regular weigh ins - you need to stay focused on your weight and measure it
3. Take action - if the scales say you are putting on weight and you are up 2 pounds DONT IGNORE IT - REDUCE the calories you are eating and get the 2 pounds off before it spirals up to 20 pounds.

This is what I plan to do this time, and I am 100% getting rid of all my fat clothes, i held on to some the last time and that was stupid as I put on a bit of weight and then I just pulled out the old size 12 trousers. I dont have any size 14 trousers though so thats why I am taking action now, maybe if I didnt have size 12 trousers I would have taken action a long time ago!! :)

All in all TFR is great for losing weight but u do need to follow a strict healthy eating and lifestyle if u want to keep ur slim figure xox

Definately agree with keep a track of your weight even if you have been really bad with the over-eating. Also it's about not going back to eating the way you did. I don't eat too much i just eat all the wrong things. i agree with the LT refeed not being great i hated all the products and just started eating food as normal. It's education on what food we should be eating that's the key i think.

I've never did a refeed, i just went back to eating normally and the weight went back on fast! In July last year i got to 11.8lbs, today i am 13.11lbs! Once I got married i just wanted some time off dieting and just ate what i wanted and didnt think about consciquences. I hope this time round if i do a 2/3week refeed taking it gradually then my weight will become stable. I then plan to count calories and do lots of exercise to make sure that i maintain my weight. It is a case of continuing to diet once you have finished to make sure you dont regain! Things like takeaways, choc, chrisp etc should be a one off luxury.. not something you can eat everyday! I have enjoyed the 6 months of eating what i wanted... but now that i am back where i started it just really was not worth it!! I was a fool!!!

I've lost weight twice with tfr but don't think i stayed on long enough to get 'my head round it'. I'm struggling to get back on after a break over christmas and this time i'm heavier than ever :-(
Years ago i maintained a healthy weight by following weight watchers mon-fri then having what ever took my fancy at the weekend. I put alot of weight on with my 2nd baby which i've never got rid of...now i'm heavier than when i gave birth to her...i think that is down to the monday restart frame of mind!! I'm here on day one again, i've got to crack it this time! x

Hop on over to the maintainence section of this form - Jan and Mary are outstanding. They have been maintaining for well over half a year now and are amazing.

I myself have been maintaining since the start of november. Im up a few pounds but everybodys weight is always up and down.

Its not an easy road and if you are starting TFR for the third/fourth time then maybe this isnt the diet for you. Maybe you have deeper issues with food that need to be addressed and maybe that can only be done via a 'conventional' diet method.

Lipotrim TFR is not a quick fix. People need to realise this. It sets you up for a completly different way of life and eating - well in theory.

I for one am so paranoid about getting back to where i was i will never go back to my old eating habits, ever.

hi although I have put 7 pounds on since chritmas, I have maintained and even lost a stone since coming of LT. I am back for support to lose the few pounds. I think you need to re-feed properly, although I have to say I did not eat quite as many carbs as recommended and watched my carbs afterwards, so yes it can be done. IN 18 weeks time if I continue I will have maintained and EVEN lost one stone since the start of LT LAST YEAR.

Thanks to all that replied i to think the refeed is not very good at all you have the comfort zone off the shakes for such a long time and then within such a short time your bk to food and in my case on your own as the pharmicist lady was useless! not very helpful at all! i think i might give it one more go but try a different chemist as i have heard good things about another one in my area! i know its me that does the diet but a little encourgement helps alot! summergirl you look fab by the way! x

Thanks honey.

Maybe you could do a longer refeed? There is no set time scale for refeeding they just reccomend 2 weeks if youve lost over a certain amount. If you feel like your not ready to go onto 3 meals then you can carry on with the shakes. Afterall, thats what the maintainence products are there for :) Hope you manage to crack it this time :fingerscrossed: It aint easy is it! :sigh: lol x

no its definitelynot easy i wish i could stay on tfr forever! lol i just find it soo hard to control my eating! i relate sooo much to scotsmist she has been a great help!
