cooking allowed?

Stinkybreath

Size 14 here i come!
Can i use garlic, chilli flakes and/or frylight when cooking?
Thanks in advance

Hello again! We're winning you over, then? ;)

Erm...

You'd probably be okay with the chilli flakes. I think it'd be an official no to the Frylight and garlic (garlic especially cos of the extra carbs).

The CD yellow book says:

Cook in the microwave, steam or poach in water. Serve salads raw or with a little fat free salad dressing. Don't add any fat or salt, but do add herbs or a little stock if you wish.

Dammit, I'm hungry now... :D

Lily i am officially won over. I spoke to CDC and meet her in a week, starting on 1st feb!! Till then i have to do it alone for the next week using my LT shakes to get me through.
Can i cook chicken in a george forman grill? Boo to the no garlic but i'll live!
Oh and what can i drink on CD?
thankyou again!

Yay! :0clapper:

I don't have one - but I don't see why not. :)

Plain / fizzy water - 2.25 litres (or 4 pints) - that's a must, but you're probably drinking that already.

In addition...

black tea or coffee (obviously no sugar but you can use sweetener)

Herbal tea (from leaf, not fruit/flower)

and after 2 weeks, you can have Cambridge diet flavourings to add to your water - Sunshine orange (which IMHO is more lemony), Summer berry and Savoury vegetable.

Pretty much the same as now then, thanks Lily! Chilli Chicken
and courgette here i come, i will be skipping round the supermarket tomorrow, so sad, lol

If you like Quorn head to asda, 2 bags for £2 in the frozen section and the quorn allowance is rather generous, enough to split into 2 meals.

Ohh thanks for the tip Lexie, what do you have with it to give it more taste, anything? All tips to get me through this week are welcome!!

well this isn't helping my hunger pangs lol

Love my George, crispy outside and soft juciey middle

Am drooling now bah lol

Thanks again you lot, i am having quorn and veg tonight after all that lol. But i will be having chicken tomorrow in the grill. Sorry for making you hungry!

I ruined Quorn last night by putting in curry powder and a couple of spices and it just tasted wrong! So I'd appreciate some advice there too :)

I just added chilli flakes to quorn chicken pieces and it wasn't good, i won't be having the quorn chicken again, yuk. It was so dry, think i will have some juicy chicken next time.

I just had an SS+ meal of chicken, diced up, with chopped up brocolli and mushroom and then added some chilli flakes and paprika, it works well I think! If you don't worry about completely straining off the brocolli so a little water goes in the pan too, it makes the spices a bit more like a sauce, which I find much better personally.

Am i Allowed mushrooms? i only just started, thanks.

I might be wrong - but I think mushrooms are fine to have - Cambridge just keep forgetting to list them when they send the booklet to the printers for a reprint.

Yup I'm sure Lily is right, they were just accidently left off the list!

I find the little yellow book a very good help for when i do need to eat and need food ideas, Im so glad i can have brocoli and cauliflower with diced up chicken breast (or whole) I tend to throw in paprika and any other spices i can get my hand on.
I too keep a bit of water from the veg to make a bit of a sauce.
Steaming the chicken makes it more juicy and enjoyable.

That was last time i did CD though and this time im going at it 100% SS. Im sure the Cambridge website has the yellow book on it doesnt it? Might just be me being mad :p

Oh really i can have them??? WOO hoo!!

Also thanks for yellow book tip thing, not officially started yet so have no info till mon!
