Question about AAM?

You have to be signed off by the Doctor to not have AMM week and you need to be monitored ! i think you can only not do it if you have a lot to lose

The original report on VLCD's stated that they should be done for 28 days and then a break which is why AAM was created with Cambridge.
I tell all my clients to do it as it doesn't really affect weight loss, doesn't affect ketosis and can be something to look forward to if you are on the weight loss train for a long time.
If people are adamant that they don't want to do it then they do need a GP signed letter saying that the GP is happy for them to stay on sole source.
With the new NICE guidelines stating a 12 week window of abstinance then I would imagine GP's are going to not want to sign this.

I am due to AAM next week, but I have another 4 stone to lose, and thought I would skip it too. I said to my CD that I was going to give it a miss, and she said it was safe to SS for 12 weeks without a break. I was planning to do the whole 12 weeks SS. Is this a really bad idea?? She hasnt asked me to get anything signed by my doc. Any advice?

The official Cambridge advice is you MUST do AAM every fifth week of the diet unless your GP states in writing otherwise. You shouldn't be doing SS for 12 weeks without GP involvement and I would recommend you do AAM as per the official guidance.
If you check your pink and yellow booklets it explains all the reasons and what you need to do but I recommend you do it until official guidance says otherwise.
