Worried!

Hi,

I am starting Cambridge Diet next week and I'm scared!
I have heard some bad things about my councellor, and am now considering not even starting.
She was pretty abrupt on the phone, almost draconian!

I'm 5'11 and she has asked me to pay £175 upfront for a months supply of SS, does this sound about right?

Apparently she has a bit of a reputation for charging for weigh-ins, extra for bars and stuff. I've not even had a consultation yet, and she is going to give me everything I need upfront... this is worrying me as everyone else I know who has done it has paid weekly and paid less!

HELP! I really want to lose some weight, but am terrified I'm going to get ripped off!

Any thoughts?

i met cdc for the 1st time last night
i have to say she is brill and works around the clients needs
weekly should always be an option you shouldn`t be made to pay for a whole month up front
look for another cdc and get the support youn need
dont be put off by one bad person they are not all like that

I think i would check on the CD website to see if there are any other CDC's in your area.

I would also find out if there is another cdc in your area, if you get a bad vibe from someone I dont think they will offer you the support you need. Also paying for a month up front is not on, you should be able to get it and pay for it weekly.

Hrm....slightly odd.

Your 175ish sounds about right to be honest, as you are over 5ft 8" you need 4 packs a day and not 3. I take it your friends are on 3? The rrp for shakes is £1.55 and slightly more for bars and tetras so if you're getting them as well as shakes you're pretty much getting it at RRP.

You shouldn't HAVE to take a month at a time - that is the maximum we can give. Ask her about that.

Dearie me at the phone mannor, I dunno, maybe benefit of the doubt, maybe she's not too good at talking on the phone?

As for extra for the bars and things, she can charge what she likes - the bars and tetras do cost us more to get in so it is her choice whether or not she charges you that extra.

Most CDC's do not charge for their time - which is very nice but would you give your time for free?

I personally don't charge but I don't see a problem with those who do.

Thanks Guys, especially Coley. I'm glad it sounds like she isn't going to rip me off monetary wise and as for her prickly exterior maybe that's what I need! I reckon she would give me a right kicking if I stray off the straight and narrow!

I think I might just ask her about having to pay for a month at a time, and having it all delivered all at once, purely because I don't know what flavours etc I'm going to like dislike etc and wouldn't want to end up at the end of the month with nothing to eat!
