Help with gelatin

Have just made the choc mousse from recipe board with powdered gelatin. Mixed it up and allowed it to cool, and when I came back to it, it was all set like jelly. Have tried to stir it into the mousse, but it won't break up.

Any ideas what I've done wrong?

Either left it for too long or used too much. Gelatin is a funny old thing to get right.
Just keep your eye on it in future, don't leave the thing unattended!!
 
If you make the gelatine up first, then while you are making the rest of the mousse it can cool a little. but you do need to pour it in whilst its still hot/liquid and let the mousse set in the fridge.
