Kee Plan - confused!

Hi,

I am a newbie here but had a good read through the posts and am a bit confused now - too much valuable information for my poor brain to process!

I got the Kee plan kit yesterday. It's a mixed diet box with 2 total and 2 weight control meals a day. They also sent a Kee plan manual and they recommend adding 200ml skimmed milk, 1 cup of vegetable/salad and multivitamin&mineral.

Question 1: in the allowable fluids they list black tea or coffee - no limits! Can I add my skimmed milk to my morning coffee? And can I have a few cups to use up milk allowance?

Question 2: I thought this was a total full replacement plan (SS) - should I add the veggies/salad as they recommend? I have to admit it would be nice to have a bowl of salad with my soup though might set me off towards other foods!

Question 3: They also recommend 1oz unsalted nuts 3 times a week but say it's not necessary when using Total products. I am having a mix of Total and Weight Control. Should I have the nuts or not?

Any advice/opinion would be greatly appreciated. So far today I had the Vanilla shake and loved it! :)

Thanks,
Kat

The reason they say to add the salad and the nuts is that the Weight Control products don't meet EU standards for a full meal replacement diet. The nuts are to keep your fat intake up where it should be so you might still need some.

If you want a full meal replacement programme then use just the Total products. Also note that exactly the same products are available from other sites at various prices (although all branded differently but you can spot them pretty easily once you start looking).

Thanks for that. I did add the salad and had the nuts yesterday. Looked at avidlite website and they seem to have similar products in the high protein section? A lot cheaper as well!

Its exactly the same stuff Slimmingagain- except Avidlite doesn't have the water flovourings.

That's great, just ordered a month's worth of them.

Hi there
If you are going for full meal replacement......you need to buy the TOTAL shakes (only: Strawberry, vanilla, chocolate and banana) and TOTAL soups (only: Chicken, mushroom and vegetable). Kee do the bars which are suitable for full meal replacement but Avidlite don't.

Oh no, I thought I could use the Avidlite Dietimeal bars. Just looked at the nutritional info it looks very similar but Avidlite bars have extra sodium, potassium and calcium. Don't know what it means SS-wise, will it take me out of ketosis?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Kee Nougat bars: 12.6g Protein / 25.2g Carbs / 1.1g Fibre / 195kcal per bar

Avidlite Caramel Peanut Crunch:
172 kCal, Protein 15g, Assimilated Carbohydrates 14.1g of which sugars 4.4g, polyols 7.6g, Fat 6.3g of which saturates 4.9g, Fibre 0.9g, Sodium 105mg, Potassium 107mg, Calcium 94mg.

Actually..............they should be alright, they look very similar.......sorry if I confused you  I didn't know Avidlite stocked these bars......fab :D

I'm well relieved then as the bars are arriving tomorrow and loads of them! :D

I came across the Pork Crunch snack on Avidlite website and ordered some for my hubby thinking they'd be healthier than pork scratchings. Now looking at them I wonder whether I could have them as well? Here they are:
Nutrition info per bag - 142 kcal (not relevant on Atkins), 21.3g protein (good), less than 0.03g carbs, 6.3g fat, of which 1.2g saturates.

Any thoughts?

If you are following a low carb or Atkins type of diet they will be ideal. However if you are on total meal replacement...then any snacking in between will keep you in the zone for food.....and give you more cravings for food.

If you are on a celebrity slim/avidlite 2 shakes/3 snacks/low carb meal then you can have them but they would be considered high fat and should only be eaten occasionally.

Dunno whether any of this makes sense???

I am on a TFR having 2 shakes, soup and a bar a day so was thinking of replacing a bar or one of the shakes? Not in addition to what I am already having but as an occasional substitute (for a bit of variety really).

Avidlite do do the Total bars but they are mixed up with the other bars and some are not correctly labelled as MRP. They are called slightly different things to Kee in some cases but they are exactly the same products.

Avidlite do have TFR bars, use the drop down box to find them, I think they are adding new things all the time, but I didn't think the soups were TFR products as they don't say meal replacement x

If you are going for full meal replacement......you need to buy the TOTAL shakes (only: Strawberry, vanilla, chocolate and banana) and TOTAL soups (only: Chicken, mushroom and vegetable). Avidlite also do the bars.......in the drop down box those labelled with MRP.
