Starting DC tomorrow... advice please!

Guess who's back...?
Hi you lot!

Got my hamper this morning with 5 weeks worth of food. Did DC aaages ago, just for a couple of weeks, but this time really want to give it my all and get around 2-3 stone off.

Can't see any kind of leaflet in the boxes with the food, so can anyone tell me what I am allowed to add each day in the way of fruit, veg and dairy etc?

From what I remember it's granola for breakfast (or porridge), fruit for mid-morning snack, soup (or shake) for lunch, biscuitty snack and fruit through afternoon, dinner with added veggies at night... followed by another piece of fruit or sugarfree jelly???

Am I wrong? Let me know!!

Lastly, what is recommended re exercise? Do it as usual (cardio, weights etc), or take it easy (swimming, yoga etc)...?

Thanks!!!

Hi Anna,
Im new to DC But hope Im correct in saying the milk allowance is 250mls or small pot of yogurt , one piece of fruit and vegetables extra to a breakfast, soup or shake and a dinner plus a snack of oatcakes . Hopefully someone who has been doing DC for awhile will correct me if Im wrong. I have quite a few stones to shift so I have two pieces of fruit per day and sometimes an extra oatcake.I also have 1 highlights drinking chocolate per day. Still think my calorie intake is very low. Even with extras. Forgot to mention I have 1 slice or 1 small wholemeal roll with my soup. I just think this is it for weeks !!! and I dont want to give up.
Wishing you a great start

Hi Val,

Thanks for your reply. I have a feeling it's 125ml of milk, not 250ml.. but will wait for somebody more knowledgeable to get back to me.

From what I have gathered so far it is 125ml semi skimmed milk, two pieces of fruit and about third plate of green veggies through the day. Don't think the bread is allowed. But, obviously, if you are losing - then cool! :)

I have less to lose having lost most of my weight on Lighter Life... so I can't get away with sneaking in many extra calories or I won't lose I don't think.

Hope it all goes well - keep in touch :) xx

Your right it is 125ml that seems very low is it enough calcium ? Checked the DC site and its 125ml either semi or skimmed.
No the bread is my added extra !!! Without it I am starving !!!
As long as I lose I will stick with my one slice. If I stop losing I can then drop it.
Have seen your fabulous weighjt loss well done. Good luck with these last few pounds

Thanks Val... did lose about a stone more, but have put it back on in the last year and a bit.... which isn't too bad judging by some people's rebounds, but even so - I want to get to my goal if I can... anywhere in the healthy BMI range is fine by me... and BMI 22 is ideal!!!

Off out now to do some errands and grab some fruit, veg and yogurt from the supermarket.... then it's lunch time! I love the soups!! :)

HI, I've been doing DC since Sep and lost 36lb.
It depends if u are on 1500or 1200 cals.depends on ur BMI
basically DC comes in at 800-900 cals.
I add fruit veg also 40g rice pasta, or couscous with some meals, bringing my total to 1200 cals
good site to use is www.foodfocus.co.uk/ hope this helps.
