I Start LL on Monday

I am starting LL on Monday and I am already getting nervous, feel like it is my last week of freedom, but also my last week of being fat !!, I was a size 8 when I met my husband, now five years on I am a size 16 and getting bigger by the year !, my problem has been wine !!, I think I am going to find that the hardest to give up, not that I am an alcoholic, just I do like a glass of wine when I get in from work. I sat in the garden this weekend in the lovely weather and was so hot sitting there in my combats as I was far too fat to wear shorts, I did eventually put a shortish skirt on and my husband told me I had backward legs !! (they are now so fat they have lost the defined bit of my knee !!) so that was it, I knew I had to do something, I look at photos of myself at the moment and could cry, I am so depressed about my weight. Sorry I am just moaning on here !!
How hard is the diet ??, I am worried about not eating anything at all, as in chewing. I guess the weight loss makes up for it.
Does anyone have any before and after pictures of themselves to inspire me ?
I am 13 stone at the moment and want to be 9 stone, so 4 stone in a 100 days, is it possible ??
Thanks for all your help and listening to me moan on !

Hiya Cmacca
welcome to Mini's :p

4 stones loss in 100 days is acheivable, lighterlife guarantee a stone a Month, so look at it that way, and anything else will be a bonus!! :D

You'll still be able to chew lol after the first 4 days you can have 1 bar a day, which is instead of one of the packs, not as well as! and you can also make muffins and other things with the packs so you'll be able to chew something!!

Good luck for Monday, and for making the decision to start a vlcd (very low calorie diet)...

lighterlife really will give you a lighterlife :D :D :D

Hi

I felt like you only I had never been a size 8 but was in size 18 trousers and 20 tops - I was 14 stone - 14 weeks later I am 9.11 and wearing size 12 comfortabley,so I have lost four stone in 14 weeks.

I was scared about the diet but once you have made the commitment you will be fine. The first three days are the hardest and I wanted to give up but don't it is SO worth it. I would say the best advice I was given was DO NOT CHEAT and also up your water from 4 litres to 5-6 once you are into it.

Also enjoy the freedom of not eating you will be amazed what it can do for you. All the very best.

Hi Cmacca, dont worry I also didnt think I would be able to cope as obviously I loved my food. Well after 1 week to 10 days I had got used to the drinks and wasnt hungry at all. I had a headache about day 2-3 but took paracetamol and drank loads of water.
Water is definately the key to these diets, and we are all here to listen to you if you have any worries or need encouragement.....or like me a virtual kick up the back side on the odd occasion..Good luck for your start, keep us posted on your progress.

Thank you all for your messages

;) Thank you for your messages, I think I am going to find this site a MASSIVE help on my LL road:eek:

Welcome cmacca and good luck! I'm on day 95 and had lost 3 stone 12 by last Sunday so 4 stone is possible - however I was only letting myself count on the 3 stone so the rest is a bonus. As the others say you're soon over the hardest bit. I was lucky and didn't have any problems the first week (apart from being a bit tired) but I'd cut down on carbs the week before and starting drinking about 3 litres of water so that probably helped me get into ketosis quickly. I'm so pleased I did this diet - I feel like myself again and I don't avoid mirrors any more:). If you are really committed you'll be fine - it really is all or nothing. I've found the head stuff incredibly helpful and my attitude to food has changed completely.

Keep focussed and in 3 months or so you'll be back in those size 8 clothes:D.

Welcome cmmaca, I am starting lighterlife tomorrow (my first meeting is tonight - eeek!) I am so excited - I really can't wait. I really believe in the concept of lighterlife and hope that my commitment to it on day 99 is as strong as it is today. I have 9 stone to lose to get to a healthy BMI so I have a long journey ahead - which is why i can't wait to get started. I hope we are both up there in the before and after thread before you can say VCLD. Good luck sweetie. We can do it!!!

Chunkychicken

Hi, CC, good luck tonight, PM me and let me know all about it, would be nice to start about the same time as someone else, we can support each other.;)

cmmaca - hopefully you'll have seen the before and after thread now and feel totally inspired by it. I'm like you, I'm a wine lover and the cheese etc that tended to go with it - I also had a drink most evenings but to be honest I really haven't missed it ... and that's even though my hubby has still been drinking it! 4 stones is definitely achievable and if you do start soon you'll be at goal towards the end of summer - only vlcd's can offer you that.

Good luck

Cath

Just made a ticker so seeing if it works, sorry not good technically !!

Hi cmacca, yes you have a lovely ticker :D
Have a look on the April starters thread there are quite a few of us starting around now. I'm just finishing week 1 (WI tonight) and have found it both incredibly easy and incredibly hard. The physical side of things is fine now, I don't feel hungry and haven't had any other major side effects. My head is a different matter I am yet to get away from a feeling of deprivation everytime I see or smell food. But I keep reminding myself that it is my choice and am looking forward to a good loss on the scales tonight.

Would be really excited to hear how you get on tonight wicked witch, keep up the good work, will be nice to have some other people going through the same.

I also blame a lot of my weight gain on wine - I would have a couple of large glasses of white wine every evening just to chill out - perhaps 3 or 4 at the weekends!! And had been doing that for years  .
Since starting Cambridge Diet I haven't had a drop. I now drink fizzy water in a wine glass in the evenings - have also been known to drink it from a champagne flute too! (I'm easily fooled ;) ) - I sleep like a log every night (was always waking up before) and I just tell myself:

I would rather have a tiny waist than a winey taste!!! :D

Good luck on Monday.
