Hello, i was wondering if someone could help me please :)

Ive just joined a gym and have been 3x this week which i really enjoy, but im a little confused

My workout at the gym is about 40 minutes cardio and 20 minutes on different weight machines 3x a week, dont ask me what there called cause i dont have a clue, the machines im going on are for my arms and legs if that any help lol.

Well i was wondering, if i carry on using the weights will i have a slower weight loss? i know that ive been told that my body shape should change and i do want to tone up as well but do you think i should cut down the weights and concentrate more on cardio untill i start dropping the pounds????

so confused

You really need to be doing both. As you tone your muscle it will give you a higher metabolic rate even at rest. Try not to focus on the scales. When I started exercising in July my weightloss did slow down for 3/4 weeks BUT I lost 2" off both my waist and hips in that time! Then my losses increased again.I have totally changed my shape and it's mainly the resistance exercises that have helped to achieve that. The weight WILL come off. Get your tape measure out, then you can track how your body's changing even if the scales aren't shifting.

Thanks judimac :)

I will stick to the routine i have then, i best find my tape measure and take my measurements.x
