Does SW work for everyone?

Hi I went to my first wi on EE last night (Wed) and only lost half a pound:(. I joined last Monday so been on plan for 10 days. I had 2 not very good days in terms of alcohol over New Year (could have been worse though!), but apart from that stuck to the food plan 100%. I'm so disappointed. I've got quite a lot to lose, and I'm concerned that this diet won't work for me or it's going to take for ever to lose 4 stone.

I have previously tried SW a few years ago and only stuck to it for about 3 weeks or so, because I was losing so little weight.
Do you think this diet works for everyone or am I just eating too much to burn off calories?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

We have a girl from our group who was following EE and was also disappointed as she was following and was only losing a little bit each week. Then the Consultant told her to mix in some Red/Green days in to the week and she soon started seeing bigger losses. You may want to try this.

hi sugarlove...how abt posting ur food diary on here?...so we can all help u...and see if there are any hidin syns.

Post your diary in the food diary section and we will have a look at it for you.

Now, the plan does say to eat till satisfied, are you actually doing this or are you clearing your plate regardless of whether you are hungry or not just because you can? If you are leaving a bit of food on the plate you are probably doing the plan right and eating till satisfied and not to bursting point, but if not, just ask yourself do you still need the food you are putting in your mouth or have you had enough. Are you filling your plate 1/3 full of superfree foods at each meal? Are you drinking enough fluids, are you having your syns, are you having the right HEA & Bs? I'm sure you consultant will have looked at all these points with you, but if you post your food diary, then it will checked everyday by somebody (or usually loads of people here) and any little errors can be corrected straight away, rather than leaving it a week till your next class. Good luck with this week.

Yes. EE WORKS, for everyone. Aslong as you do it correctly. . BUT it is down to you to figure out what works best..

E.g, green days work better for me than red, but EE works much better over all for me.. you see what i mean?

It took me 64 weeks, to lose 64 lbs.. 4 and a half stone. Thats a pound a week and thats what you should be aiming for, but i appreciate your need for a bit of a bigger result.. its important to see results for motivation, but just bare in mind its no miraculous over night thing, give yourself time and relax and enjoy it x

EE does work if done properly.
It took me 30 weeks to lose 30.5 pounds (I put one back over Christmas) so it's no a speed weight loss plan for me, but it works and it's easy to maintain.
sugarlove, you said you had 2 not very good alcohol related days. That could have prevented a bigger weight loss. Half a pound is not bad. I have had some weeks where I STS or had gains when I stuck to plan, but the next week would be quite a big loss. You will lose. Good luck!

Im same as you, i find green sometimes boring and red im starving so im giving ee another go but this time a full month, as last time i did it and sts one week put half on next and then lost 3.5lbs the week after, so this time as first wi was last night it was cancelled so i will find out next week, but im sticking to it as it more of the foods i like together and dont forget more superfree is good :), good luck with it

when i first started dieting i was doing WW. I then swapped to SW. The first few weeks i did not lose or i STS. I really loved the whole SW diet so i carried on and then it happend, i think my body adjusted to it and then i started to loose more weight, one week i even lost 6 pounds so was very pleased!! SW is amazing, and if you stick to it give it time you will loose!! x x

You've said it yourself, you had 2 bad days and you expect to lose?

2 bad days is not following the plan 100% so you can't have thought you'd lose lots? To lose at all is a bonus!!!

Stick to it for a full week, you'll be surprised. Fern is correct, EE works when followed correctly. Just give it time and don't expect miracles hun, it didn't go on overnight, it won't come off overnight either.

All good advice there for you, so please give it another try and you will see how much weight you can lose on EE, good luck with it.

I thought I might have lost because it was my first week, and I stuck to the plan for 8 days out of 10!

Thanks for your comments, I will post some food diaries up later.

Have decided that I will review the situation after a month, and see how much weight I've lost in total then. I would be delighted to lose 4lb per month, as I'm really enjoying the food I'm eating. I just could have done with a bit of a boost in my first week to spur me on.:)

if you stick to it you will loose, when i was not loosing i was so disappointed as like you said i was enjoying what i was eating so much!
Just need a diet now where i can see the difference within a week;)!! that would be the best, im so inpatiant:D!

Seems to work for most. Certainly eeryone on this forum. Those it didn't work for won';t be on this forum. I think I have finally worked out that me and carbs don't mix. Actually I worked this out a while back, but hoped that SW was the holy grail. The more carbs I eat, the more I want, the more I crave, the bigger I get. If I do green I gain. No question. Same with EE if I eat carbs. I'm gonna do EE but with no carbs. Like red but with one HexB

If you stuck to the food side of it 100% then it will be the alcohol that affected your weight loss. It has loads of syns so you need to make sure you use your daily syn allowance to cover it.

For me this was the key - recognising when I am full. It's very easy on EE to just eat everything and anything, thinking, 'It's Ok, it's all Free or SuperFree', when in fact, it's only free if you stop eating when you feel satisfied. Once you go beyond that point, it becomes Syns, and we all know what'll happen if we don't keep count of our Syns properly!

The other thing is to also keep your meals and menu varied, so as suggested, throw in some Green or Original days to keep you focussed.

Stick with it, it WILL work for you if you want it to, and commit to following it as the book tells you.

Good luck, and hugs to help keep that motivation going. x
