1-2-1 or group - your choice?

I've just been reading a thread and noted that the some people prefer to attend a group meeting rather than a 1-2-1 with a CDC, as I'm hoping to become a CDC soon I would be interested to hear who prefers what.

Thanks for your help :D

I'd never do a group thing

In fact that turned me off lighter life...i just cant be doing with group chats..

Likes to grab me packs and go!

Its funny you ask this question as somone suggested I do a group session and I asked a few of my clients and a big percentage of them said no I would prefer to do 1-2-1 so it will be interesting to see what other say..
When I was seeing my consultant I preferred the fact I saw her on my own didnt really want to do a group session to be honest.

xx

I would be happy with either approach; they both offer their own benefits.
I did Lighterlife in the past and quite enjoyed being in a group. I used to go on a Tuesday evening straight after work and I was then more office based, so I would get lots of encouragement from my colleagues as I headed off to LL. The LL counsellor used to do a group on a Sunday afternoon which I wasn't part of but I did think at the time that a group like that could have been a lifeline to people too busy during the week, but also people that felt isolated - maybe because they were new to London, recently separated or bereaved etc.
Just a thought?!

Defo prefer 1-2-1 if cambridge diet was a group thing would probably put me off, as I don't need to talk about how I put me weight on as already know:D lol x

Awww thanks dont wanna hijack the thread..but yes im feeling great and loving CD still...near 8 months on MAD!!! seems like the last 20 odd pounds are gonna take forever lol 9'7 seems a long way off!!

Bet your still looking fabby !!! my lil inspiration :D xx

Thank you all for your replies, I'm still unsure - a group where you can talk about how you are doing on CD (rather than how you came to be on CD) could be a bit like this site, really helpful and motivating. Maybe I could look at both :)

Hi,

I'd say 1-2-1 although i actually attend my CDC with my mum. This forum is great as support and i prefer it to a group as you can still remain anonymous which helps when you're not happy with who you are.

As others have said, the group sessions are actually what put me off doing lighterlife.

1-2-1 for me. Tried LL in the past, groups put me off. Nobody else needs to know all about me except who im paying if that makes sense. Cant put into words what i want to! Also at LL they tried to put my overeating down to my dad passing away when i was 12 due to suicide. Definately not, im just a pig :D. Naughty!
