LighterLife Men

As a male on the LL programme not only do we meet seperately from women on the programme but we also have totally different booklets etc. and our sessions are different.

I don't know of any other weight loss programme where the sexes are seperated but I suppose there must be good reasons for it.

It's nice however to be able to have contact with other people who are on the programme regardless of their gender, even if it is only 'virtually'.

Yes and you men loose a lot quicker than us women ******** :D :D

some women may not feel comfortable in mixed groups, and vice versa, thats prob the reasoning behind it...

Tis good to be able to come on here tho and mix with us ladies eh!!:p :D

Hi Digger

Nice to 'meet' you :) How many men are there in your group?

Cath

I actually think its a good idea as men & women do think/relate differently. Also think that as people loose weight a degree of flirting would detract from the sessions! Good uck on your journey & keep us updated! We're all here to support each other through the ups and downs - whatever sex you are!

Katie, we have a hard core of 6 men in our group and there are others who come and go. We have lost a few of those who had just 3 or 4 stone to lose and have left us to go into management when they reach their goal but there are a smaller group of us who need to loose a lot more.

Our LLC has less than 10% men on her books which is confusing because this is a programme ideal for men and I would have thought a lot more guys would be on it.

A lot of the men in the group have partners who are on the programme too, I suppose this is a clue to how many LL men end up on the programme.

Nice to meet everyone on here and nice to know there is at least one other guy onn here - hi Tommee.

Hi Digger, good to know that there are quite a few going and that they're sticking with it. The losses that you men get are amazing, they leave us girls jealous as hell :)

Hi Digger,
Glad to hear of a men's group running so well. I wanted my other half to do it as I have had such great success on LL. He went to see my LLC who said she had some men on her books but they didn't stay for sessions etc. So it seemed a lot of money to pay for the foodpacks if he wasn't going to get any of the proper support. What a shame.

Think he will have a go at CD though as its half the cost which seems fairer if there is no group sessions available. I would have loved him to be in a good supportive LL men's group though.

How are you doing with the diet ?

There are quite a few men on here.....most of them started on LL, but most have changed to Cambridge. For instance, we have icemoose, mindless, mike24 to name a few!! I think they're just a bit busy at the moment!!:)

Good luck with LL, I did it previously as well and loved it. I'm also another one who thinks the separation is needed between the sexes. I don't think I'd really have gotten much out of it if there were men there to be honest, but thats just me.

Keep posting! :)

I am still on LL, with no plans to switch to CD as I quite enjoy the counselling sessions ad do find them helpful. Our group is down to about 8 now as some have moved on to Management.

At the risk of peeing you off Magickme, and reminding you that men lose weight easier and quicker than women, I have been on the LL programme for 81 days today and have so far lost 74 lbs. I still have some way to go before I lose as much as you but I am really pleased with my loss so far, it's the best thing I've ever done. I need to do the same again to get to my goal weight, I hope to have done this by August.

To anyone struggling or thinking of giving up - stick with it, it really works and the end result will make all the hardship worthwhile.

Good to see some other men here. Although we have separate meetings this is a great forum for picking up all the 'hints and tips' that go with LL. I have found it really motivating to read everyones experiences - highs and lows!

I'm only on day 2 of LL but getting on OK so far.
Well done Tommee on hitting the 5st mark - an amazing achievement.

Keep up the good work all!

Johnny :D

This forum is truly amazing, the people are fantastic and the diets are great too. It is nice to see some more fellas feeling brave enough to come and join the site. It is nice to hear from a blokes viewpoint too.
Keep up with your hard work.
