Hello everyone. First ever post on a forum like this so apologies if I do anything wrong!

Decided to make an early start on the new year resolution but want to base it more around exercise so might head to a part of the site more related to that.

I am hoping that this will be a good way to keep my motivation up. Fingers crossed anyway!

Thank you:)

Hi Shetland Lass,

Welcome to MiniMins and best of luck on your diet journey.

Here is a link to help you make your way around http://www.minimins.com/introductions/46674-new-members-guided-tour-minimins.html and if you need any help please ask.

Mark has just joined as well and he is also into exercise so he might be able to help you with some suggestions as he is after losing a stone going to the gym.

Here is the link for his post http://www.minimins.com/introductions/129043-hello-im-mark-i-wanna-lose-weight.html

Hey Mini

I actually just replied to Mark! I have read all the books and bought (and done some) of all the DVDs so I do know what I am supposed to be doing, it's just getting the motivation to do it which is the problem!

I could be out for a run just now but I am on this instead . . . see what I mean?!

I'm going to do a Wii workout before bed so at least that will be a start.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi Shetland Lass

Welcome to the site. You're find everyone really helpful and friendly here.

Well done for your early start of your new years resolution! Are you doing a specific diet or just healthy eating?

I'm on Go Lower and am finding it easier than I thought.

Best of luck for your new diet and let us know how you get on.

Thanks guys. I started a new thread so I am just praying that somebody out there wants to join me!

Wow Suzy you have done great - 30lbs! I haven't heard of Go Lower so I am going to go and Google it just now. My plan is to just start exercising again! I can eat much more when I exercise but on the plus side I don't usually want to eat any rubbish as I know it will ruin the effects of the exercise. There's something about it which makes you just want to eat things which are good for you - at least that's how it works for me.
Scottish Slimmers also have some great recipes which I use every now and then. You can get the recipe books off their website if anyone is interested. Very quick and easy even if you are not following their diet.

I'm now off to find out about this diet which helped you lose 30lbs . . . ! x

Hi Shetland Lass

Did you find out about Go Lower? for me it has been great but then I am hopeless at being motivated to exercise. Like you I could be jogging around the park but I am nice and cosy sitting here instead in the warm and dry....

What is your thread about?

I did find out about it yes, but I quite enjoy cooking so not sure if it is for me. Plus I don't know if they would supply it up here to me. We have problems with companies charging us extra or not delivering at all to us just because we are not on the mainland. I don't know why we have to get charged extra (even if they post through Royal Mail) as we are still part of the UK and they pay the same at the P.O.!

Anyway. My thread is in the Fitness and Exercise part of the site. I just wanted to see if anyone wanted to start exercising again in the new year and wanted to be exercise buddies (I need motivation!). Judimac has joined me and has been great (I've spent a fortune today buying some of her Wii recommendations!) but I am hoping others will join in too.

And as for running - that's my NY resolution, to go every day, but in the meantime I am just managing the Wii (EA Sports just now) as it is about as far as I can get from the couch!

We were playing with a Wii at friends over Xmas and I am thinking about investing in one as exercise is not my big thing. I have spent fortunes in the past on gym membership and never go. Now with two kids and the cold weather I am most definitely not motivated!

Have a look at the Go Lower site to see if they will deliver if it interests you as for me it is just so easy.

Good luck with your exercise plan, I will be behind you all the way in spirit, just not in body!
