My book doesn't tell me...

Yasmine

One last chance
I know I have the old book but it doesn't say anything about rice being taken as a healthy extra on an original day. Can you not take rice as a healthy extra on an original day? if so how many sins are in 4oz of cooked boiled rice?

No, rice cannot be taken as a healthy extra on an original day.

This is the syn value:

so you'll have to syn 4 oz of boiled rice at 8 syns!
You'll be better off doing EE!!

Wow, thanks for that. I'm not entirely sure how EE works, I've read about it but still kinda confused. This plan didn't exist when I did SW 2 years ago. But I'll be sure to ask my consultant for more info :)

Don't worry. EE can be very confusing to people who have previously only done green and original.
I first did SW in 2002 (and targeted), and a few times since, but I fell off the wagon each time as I found both far too restrictive.
They introduced EE this year, so when I rejoined I was delighted that they did so as for me it's just the best. Once you get your head around it, it's just so easy.
I love my meat and I love my carbs together so I hate having to restrict one or the other.
I am just as inspired as I was on the first day I rejoined, and that's not bad going 7 months down the line, and proudly at target (polishing my halo ;))
Have you read the thread that our Squiddie put up on EE? It explains it all.
Good luck!! SW is just great and EE is the bestest thing ever created! :D

Oooooo I was wondering how having carbs and protein at the same time was possible! I know what you mean about that!

Oh well done on hitting target! it's an amazing feeling isn't it? I got about 10lbs or so before I hit target, can't wait!

I read about it but it's still kinda confusing LOL have to bear with me I'm a slow learner LOL. I really can't wait to start SW, will be a great change after VLCD :)

Thanks.. it's great hitting target!
Good luck with SW.. I am sure you'll love it.
I have never done VLCD, and I don't think I could as I am not good with restrictions.
For me, SW is just so fantastic, especially now with EE, that I know I'll be able to maintain for life.

VLCD's are not easy, but I'm stubborn enough to follow through for months on end just to be slimmer. I'm an all or nothing kinda girl :D

But with my last stone or so, I want to lose it using food that way maybe maintaining my weight will be much easier. And reading things like

UNLIMITED CHIPS
UNLIMITED RICE
UNLIMITED PASTA

It's so refreshing to hear what you can have rather than what you can't have and I think SW is the best diet for those who don't have an off button LOL. Wish I had an off button though.
