Morphy richards slow cooker 48718

Anyone have this one? I brought it 1/2 price on amazon it's a 6.5L one (no idea why i need one of that size but hey!)

I have used it once for a bolognaise sauce and left it on low for 6 hours - when i came home everything was a total mush!

That was on low and the recipe in the manual said 8 hours for the sauce!

Can anyone give me any feedback on it and any successful recipes they have cooked in it.

Thanks
REM

I have that one and yeah first time i made bolognese it was overcooked but have since made it reducing the time and it was fine. Have also made rice pudding and beef casserole in it so far. It is huge isn't it lol.

I have the same one. It is massive! Too big even for my (greedy) family of five! I have mainly made stews and cooked joints in mine. However, I stupidly put mine in the dishwasher (I think I ignored the instructions) and now the glaze is covered in little cracks. I was thinking of replacing it with a "Crockpot" from argos.

I don't have the same make but I have a 6.5l one and I use it every day!
We are renovating a flat at the moment and I don't have a kitchen. All I have to cook with at the moment is my slow cooker, a microwave and an electric steamer.
I find it so easy though, especially to cook SW stuff (One Pot recipe cookbook is good). I prepare it at night and turn it on in the morning then it is ready when I finish work.
I have a spinach and cheese cannelloni cooking in there at the minute and it smells yummy! It's great for lasagnes too!

wow never thought of putting pasta into it! Spinach and cannalloni is a favourite of mine - any chance of the recipe please?!

Made a lamb and barley stew in it today, put it on medium at 12 and come home at 5 to a perfectly cooked dinner!

Just not sure it would be any good to put on at 8am and come back at 5pm - 9hrs and i think it would ruin/burn the food.

i made lamb rogan josh in mine yestersday it was gorgeous although i had to take the lid of for the last couple of hours so it thickened up a lot.
i also make stews in mine too, i use my actifry to make spag bol and chilli xx

Yes the recipe is easy:
Mix 1 egg yolk with grated rind of one lemon, 150g cottage cheese, 150g quark, some parsley and 1 crushed garlic clove.
Blanch 255g spinach for 30 seconds and then drain and add to the mixture.
Spoon the mixture into 12 cannelloni tubes and place in the slow cooker.
Next mix 500g carton passata with 2 crushed garlic cloves and a tablespoon sweetener. Pour this over the cannelloni.
Grate some reduced fat cheese over the top (and count as your healthy extra for a no syn meal).
Cook on low for 4-5 hours.

It is yummy!!!

Personally I would be a bit wary of doing this as food would be lying out unrefrigerated until the timer went on. And I def wouldn't do it with meat ;)
