Silly Weighing Question

Hiya,

I have some electronic measuring scales and want to weigh out 1oz of something.

When the scales are on zero they show 0.000, so when i start adding ingredients to makeup 1oz, should the scales read 1.000.

Sounds stupid I know but just want to make sure! Thanks! x

I would guess so yes, but you should be able to tell by sight. cereal for example is about a cupped handful for 1oz.
