First week

Hi all,

Well I've sat for the past few hours reading through all the stories, I'm on day 5 of LT ... and for the first time this week I slipped and ate a dinky donut!! :( (took a friends son to see the Xmas light switch on and the smell just called me) ate it - but didnt even like the taste of it. Felt so stupid afterwards.
I've not felt 'starving' but later at night I do tend to get hungry, and have tried to ward this off with water - but then I'm up all night wee'ing lol it is hard though, and clearly so easy to slip, I just hope I haven't ruined it all now :(

A little about me, I'm 22, have been on/off diets since I was 16 - always been big. Started this year at 16st 6lb - but with WW & Reductal & splitting from an X! I managed to get down to 14st 6lb. I got weighed in with LT on Monday night and was 14st 9lb, so I'm going from there. I'm 5'8 so lucky in a sense, as weight spreads a bit better, but my goal really would be 13st - that would be fantastic.
I came across LT from a friend (male) who lost 5 stone in only 3 months earlier this year - I nearly dropped down when he sent me a new pic of himself - AMAZING!:)
He's been great so far this week, like a little guru for me lol. I am sorta struggling, I just wanna get to Monday night now, but I'm sat here thinking 'EAT EAT EAT!!'

One quick question - how do you tell if your in ketosis or not?

Am hoping to keep up to date on here as some really good inspiration,

If you've been eating donuts you won't be in ketosis - sorry but you can't half do this diet. Total Food Replacement means TOTAL!
Please Debbie if you're going to do Lipotrim read the bag and the literature your pharmacist will have given you and stick to it.
Good luck

Jon

Debbie, have to agree with Jon. There is no halfway house with this diet. If you got to day five with no food then you were mostlikely in ketosis. The foul breath and furry tasting mouth are good indicators that you are in ketosis. You can get "ketostix" from the pharmacy to test your urine for the presence of ketones. They are not always reliable and unnecessary if you have no food then you WILL be in ketosis. It is that simple. Unfortunately a donut is a pretty big no no and you may have done harm to your loss this week. Even if you have a good loss DO NOT take this as a signal that you can cheat when you want. That will be a slippery road to ruin.
It will get easier for you. The first week or so is tough but hang in there. Keep sipping water as it does help with the hunger pangs. Hop on here any time you need a bit of encouragement.

Thanks for the replies guys, and please be assured I am completely serious about this, but after so many years of 'food addiction' I never realise how strong the will to just eat is.
I've walked away so many times already this week, and still dont know why I ate that donut last night, but I'm back on track this morning, even though I'll have brought myself out of ketosis, I will get myself back there hopefully sooner rather than later. And no, if I still manage to get some form of weight loss tomorrow, I will not be taking that as a 'cheating works' type pass for myself.

That was half the reason I registered yesterday, because I feel I need that support, and to know I'm not the only one feeling like this.

Back to it today any way... will wait and see tomorrow for wi

Glad you're back on track, but you do need to be pretty tough on yourself! I too have had food addictions for many years so I do understand, but I promise the hunger pangs will diminish within the next couple of weeks or so, once you get into ketosis and start burning off fat. Hopefully your weigh in tomorrow will spur you on. Your donut probably won't affect it much, but it will have affected your ketosis, and in the long term that is more important.

All the best for tomorrow, and let us know how you get on.]

Jon
