Can I do a full week LC?

I am going to give LC another go. I despise carbs and what they do to me, leave me bloated, sleepy and sick. For one week I am going to give it my all. No bread, cereal, potatoes, pasta, chocolate, crisps, cheese. I am swapping coffee for tea and herbal teas. I am going to leave it as late as I can before eating as I find that it helps me to eat less.

I am not gonna count carbs or cals, I will eat foods I know do not trigger me into a binge. As long as I don't eat the above mentioned I will be happy enough.

I am giving myself one week from tomorrow (Sat) to see what I can achieve when I put my mind to it.

Sounds good!

We all have to find what works for us and our own bodies and lifestyles. And I agree we mostly know, after years of losing/gaining/losing/gaining, what we should eat and what we should mostly avoid.

Eat in moderation, exercise a bit more - needn't be drastic, just gentle increases here and there, and drink plenty of water. I am not one to dose up on 4 litres a day plus tea coffee herbal tea etc, I can't handle that much fluid, but 2 litres of pure water per day minimum is advised, I'd say.

I also recommend a decent multivitamin and mineral supplement as 'insurance' should you accidentally go short of any vital nutrients. I have been told that Omega 3, whether veggie (in my case) or from fish oils, is great for helping to prevent or minimise hair loss.

Try not to get over tired or over hungry, as both can lead to slips. Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

Keep at it - I find pumpkin seeds and babybel lites (no more than 2 a day) can keep the carb cravings at bay. The only thing I would say is be wary of eating too late - I went through a stage of skipping breakfast and my weight loss stopped completely - I think the metabolism needs a bit of a kick start or it goes into starvation mode.

Yes, Andy - we need to eat enough when low carbing. Starving just isn't good and can slow or stall weight loss.

Eating breakfast is definitely advisable.

Hiya,
just popping to say good luck with your lc.
I have been doing ww but my own way and I also cut all possible carbs (aparts from the one in veg) and sugar.
I feel so much better! Not to mention no cravings and consistent weight loss.
Life couldn't be better. Good luck with your journey xxx

I typed out a reply earlier but page froze and had to refresh. My weekend didn't go as planned so am starting today, Mon.

I will have 3 meals a day and lots of water, min 5 pints.
