swede???

Trying to have some new things this week so i bought a swede,but now i have no idea what to do with it. Any ideas please:confused:
 
Peel, chop into small bits, boil then mash - use to top cottage pie on a red day instead of potato or mix with mash & carrot to make a different side dish on a green day :)

Can also have with haggis (3syns per 28g) & mash ;) YUM!
 
I make swede and carrot mash. Chop them up and boil for 30 mins or so drain and mash, yummy. They are great chopped up in soups and stews. Also you can roast them together with carrot, potato, onion etc.
 
Mashed potato and swede - Just boil the swede and potato together and mash together after cooking
Mashed swede and carrot - again same, boil them together in a pan and then mash

I love mashed swede. I guess you could probably do everything you do with potatoes with swede so try roasting, boiling, mashing, topping pie, add to stews.

I had this tonight and it was loovvvveeellyy, the rest of the family had mash potato and my corner of the cottage pie had swede and carrott mash mmmm was really surprised how nice it was, next time I make cottage pie everyone will have the same as me :D no messing about.
