Life just gets worse for me at the moment, one thing after another and all that. Well, I had my pre med on monday for my knee replacement opp which I have been waiting to have re done since Feb (long story), but I have got a contageous skin condition and so, today as I was at the hospital for something else, I thought I would just enquire if they would still do the opp. Nurse rang consultant and he said a definate no untill complaint has cleared up. Nurse then told me "what a shame, it was booked in to be done a week on Thursday". I could have cried, all this time of waiting and when its on the doorstep, something else comes along and scuppers it. So consequently, I feel very down this afternoon. I know I want to run to the cupboards but I am talking very firmly to myself to keep me away from a commando raid, so thought I would come on here, moan and then hopefully the moment will have passed. Virtuall strawberries and champagne might cheer me up, we could all share, what do you think peeps?

Aww thats awful, my oh is still waiting to see a specialist about his knees, its been 2 yrs now. Our gp keeps chasing it up but of course theres always someone more in need. It apparantely doesnt help that hes only 32 as older patients get seen first because it affects there quality of life more.

MMMMMM thinking champagne and trying to message it through the internet. Take care honey and just get better soon xx

HUGE HUGS xxxxxx

Bad news CG well done on the lack of raiding though. Lots of hus to you.

Awe bless him, I know how he feels. Appartently they don't like to do them before you are 50 cos they can only do them twice in a life time, something to do with them cutting the bone away and there is only so much they can cut before you cann't have it done again. As the new knee has a life span of approx 15 years that would take you to about 75 before you may need a redo and then thats ya lot so to speak. I did get mine done a little earlier as it was soo bad but it only lasted a few months before it fell to bits, hence having a total replacement again! Never mind, he will get it done one day, keep badgering the GP for a referal and then badger the surgeon, its the squeeky wheel that gets the oil.
