Set Menu's?

Hi,

i was just wondering how you sort your week out?

Do you just decide what you are going to eat on the day or do you plan your week in advance?

I am just about to start again on slimming world and was thinking that it may be easier if I actually plan my weekly menu instead of trying to think about what I should have when it comes to tea time and then opting for the easier option of non slimming food!

Hey!
Eek welcome back to slimming world:D
Well I always have green days (im a vegi) and i just tend to plan what my main meal (for me dinner) is gonna be a couple of days in advance.

And my mum plans what days (shes not a vegi) she is gonna have for the week and then what her main meal is gonna be... not like wednesday is....... and then thursday is.......... but just 7meals and then just chooses what she is gonna have that morning- **Does that even make sense:confused: **

Dont know when ya last did SW but alot of syn values have changed dramtically over the last couple of years (not always for the better:eek: )

Let us know how ya get on...:grouphugg:

I plan 4 green and 3 red days of lunch and dinner on a Friday so I can write my list for a shop or internet order over the weekend. I can decide in the mornings whether it'll be a red or green day although I tend to alternate. There's so much variety in the foods and I bought a few of SW recipe books for inspiration.

i think I might try planning my meals for the week! this way I will have less chance of temptation cause I will already know what I am having!

I have just walked up to tesco with the baby in her pram and got stocked up on my free tesco yogurts so I think I have enough stuff in my cupboards to keep me until I do a shop at the weekend!

thats it! I am starting tomorrow....never mind waiting til monday.

I'M READY..........BRING IT ON!!!!!!

(wish me luck!)

Good for you, Curly Girl, sounds like you are motivated to do well :)

I'm very impressed by the organised people on this thread. I must admit that I sort of lurch from day to day at the moment (only my 2nd week). At the weekend I bought plenty of things that I could have for lunches and evening meals without actually planning what I would eat. e.g. I bought a couple of small trays of chicken pieces from Asda (I'm mainly doing original days), a couple of tins of princes liver and onions, some ready meals I could freeze, salad, various veggies and fruits, some tins of Baxters soups (healthy B), some laughing cow extra light and mini babybel (healthy A). I've already got Quorn sausages and mince in the freezer (not a veggy but I love quorn) and plenty of frozen fish. So with that lot in...I just decide on the day. The last few days I've tried to keep the breakfast and lunch neutral so I can decide on Red or Green in the evening depending on my mood.

The funny thing is that since I've been dieting, my partner has lost about 5 lbs without being on a diet. Just because I'm eating more healthily and buying more healthy foods he has benefitted too :D

Hope all of this makes sense - wish I was as organised as cjtj and Wes!! Love, ff x

I ussually find that if I plan ahead then I can stick to it much easier, its when I try and take one day at a time I go off the rails. I think by planning ahead I'm telling myself what I'm having rather than giving myself the chance to choose the wrong thing on the day! Don't know if that makes sense but Im not great with words :)

Hey, I'm having a go at planning ahead...not too far...just planning in the evening what I'll have to eat the next day. I felt much better today, more in control, I knew what I could have and knew where my healthy options were, instead of guessing (and sometimes getting it wrong and them ending up as syns). Thanks for the tip! I can't imagine doing the whole week in advance - but you never know - I may suddenly turn into an organised person (although my partner will collapse in shock if I do  )

Hi

Hi, im a veggie too, and doing the green days doesnt work for me i cant seem to loose the weight fast enough. This could be down to me having hypothyroidism (under active thyroid), what i want to know how can you decide what you want to eat everyday it seems liek im eating the same day in and day out. & being a student means im too busy to cook anything from scratch or even exercise. Anyone have any advice please :wave_cry:

Thanks
Leah
