'Fat rights' allow obese people to eat themselves to death

Some of the comments under that blog sicken me, if this is the so-called "moral support" we're apparently in need of, they can stick it. Some people seem to find it hard to differentiate between moral support and bullying.
In the blog itself, I do agree with the fact that people need more support, but I know that in some families people don't just support. It's more like pressuring or constant jibing about people's weight. Most of the time it's NOT "gentle nudging" that's offered, it's nagging, which I for one don't respond well to!

I usually don't bother to read the arsehole comments but I did and wish I hadn't.
The truth is, people will only change when THEY want to and no amount of cajoling, bribing or bullying will work and could well exacerbate the problem.
We all KNOW how unhealthy it is to be overweight but some people need to hit rock bottom before they can find a solution.
