COUNTING SYNS - how do you do it?

Hello all! How do you allocate your syns? I use 15 a day and this week to try something different I've taken my weekly total, taken off 10 for any forgotten slip ups, marked 95 on the big chalk board in the kitchen and i'm marking them off as a spend them. I kind of feel like i've had a really indulgent weekend yet there's still loads left to see me through to Weds. How do you work them?
 
Our consultant (and SW in general, I think) advise that syns are used daily, rather than weekly, so I just have up to 15 per day, although I rarely use more than 10 :)
 
i just use mine daily unless i know ive got something planned that will take me over my daily limit, i usually have closer to 10 than 15
 
Until a few weeks ago I was sticking to a maximum of 15 per day, but usually having around 10-12.

But the last few saturdays I have been out (40th birthday party with big buffet, dinner and dance with my work with set menu, and a 21st at TGI Fridays) so have stayed low on my daily syns knowing I would go over the top on the Saturday evening.
 
If I am going out for a meal I will have a syn free day up to that point becuase even if you think you are eating on plan from a menu you can never be sure e.g Wetherspoons baked potatoes have been rubbed with oil before they even get to the restaurant !!

I think its because if I save the syns, and eat them on somehting big or naughty, I am bombarding my body with a whole heap of fat & calories at once, and I am less likely to burn that off than if I spread them out over the week. I personally think if you feed your body slowly overe time, you will burn up the calories/fat a lot more efficiently!
 
The only problem with saving your syns up (which, granted, is different to counting over the week) is exactly as jerricebenton says. Your body might have burnt a lot of fat over the week, but then suddenly store a lot!

Doesn't mean it doesn't work - just an observation! Personally I have 15 a day, because if I go over and think OK I'll take some off tomorrow, the same happens the next day and tomorrow never comes!
 
I prefer to have a drink at weekend and as such save my syns for that. I write it all down in a spreadsheet and save it on my pen drive so I can update it regularly.

I do the same, but I also write down how many I have left at the end of the week & put down my WI for same wk :cool:. I do this so I can spot a pattern, if there is one!

That is interesting. How come you are allowed 20 syns a day?
In all the classes I have been to they always state 5-15 syns a day!

I tend to do them daily, but if I do go over I cut back the next day. Seems to work ok for me.

I think its because I have a lot to lose. My C sent me a welcoem letter, and had crossed out 5-15 syns and written 15-20 in its place! I rarely use more than 15 though.
 
I use mine weekly, some days I have none and some days I have lots. This suits me best.

That is really good.. nice to hear about a flexible C! It does make sense.
