is it just me or are baked beans more watered down and not of the same standard?? I mean I usually buy HP, Branston or Heinz, but this time I bought HP, they were watery, discoloured and were not the usual colour.I was wondering if the manufacturers have been cutting down on their ingreds in an attempt to sell the beanz cheaper, coz the price of beans is twice as much as it used to be!!

I agree, it seems there are fewer beans and more sauce. My favourite beans are branston and even they seem to be less beany :)

I agree they used to be lots cheaper! I remember the days of 9p a tin (in the last ten years, not in the 60's!!!)

hehehe i dont really like beans that much so havent noticed.... i did buy a tin of heinz sausage and beans for my kids and the sausages were missing lol x

i always buy the value beans now they taste no different to me

I also use and love Branston beans! I can't say that I've noticed a difference in the quality of beans, I haven't been eating beans that long lol. I wonder why they're cutting back on the beans... I'd rather they up the price slightly rather than compromising the quality of the product.
LOL @ the beans and sausage without the sausage!!! :D

We only ever have Branston and I haven't noticed a reduction in beans, but the price is going sky high!! I try and stock up when Lidl have them in for £1 :D

i couldnt believe it... my kids couldnt either hehehe

The first half year or so of my diet consisted of a lot of beans, I found that, although I never ate Heinz/Branstons due to the higher calorie content, I used to eat ASDA/Tesco reduced sugar/salt ones, except when there were none in stock, in which case it was the regular, but what I noticed was the reduced ones always tasted better and less watered down than the regular ones, strange?

I use a lot of beans with jacket pots and my egg and sw chips, my daughter always uses stripey ones but I like heinz
