Hi everyone I'm Hannah and I'm fairly new to this site I have tried so many diets since my teens and although I was succesful with the slimfast diet with which I lost but I put it back on within a couple of years, all the other diets I have tried such as Cambridge diet, The cabbage soup diet, weight watchers, slimming world, the Cereal diet etc have never been very good for my so this time I am throwing all the faddy diets out of the window and a going to eat Healthy by counting my calories, excercising and being sensible oh and I am hoping to gain a bit of insperation from a rather beautiful dress i have had in my wardrobe for over a year and have never worn because it dosent fit I'm hoping it will keep my on track and help me to lose 45lbs before may next year (am i being to optimistic?).
The reason for my post is because i was hoping you lovely people could give me a bit of advise on what sort of stuff I should be eating and how can i work out how many calories i need a day its probably very simple but as I am a all or nothing sort of girl who is either on a very strict diet or stuffing my face!!! Oh also how much excersise should i do a day?

Thank you so much for reading and I look forward to getting some good advice x x

6 months to lose 45lbs sounds nice! You should be able to do that if you stick to your diet and do some light exercise...I've been on my diet for almost 3 months and lost 29lbs so in three more months i could easily lose 15lbs. Goodluck!

Oh yeah and i try to stick to 1000cals a day..give or take 100-200...And i rarely work out...going to start the gym within the next week so that will help lose faster im sure

Try calorie cycling to kick start you metabolism! But I would say don't eat less that 1200 every day (some days on the calorie cycling are less that 1200, but not every day).
They weight comes off fairly quickly at first, but slows down a lot towards the end, so make sure you are doing cardio as well to help you a long.
Also keeping a food diary on here helps (try looking at the what we have eaten today thread to see what other people are eating and you should also post there)
I am sure you will do great :)
