Xmas card from ex consultant, how do I take this?

I had an Xmas day card today, I thought it was a bit early but hey, and it was from my ex consultant. The exact wording was " It's still not too late to start again!!!"
Maybe it's me being over sensitive but I took offense to this. How dare she assume I'd need to 'start again'! When I left I had letters every week for ages telling me that the group was'missing a member' and hoping I'd come back soon, it seemed like constant hassle even though she knew the only reason I left was because I lost my job and couldn't afford it. She wasn't even a good consultant, giving wrong information most of the time! Just wanted to know, how would you all take that before I fire off an e mail telling her I've lost over a stone since I left group.

Reply to her, thanking her for her thoughtful Christmas card (!!) but that you have no need to 'start again' as you have never stopped and have lost over a stone. Tell her you know where to find her should you be in a position to afford classes again.

Or, tell her to b***er off.

Whichever suits your mood best ;)

I agree Hun...I wouldnt be too upset by it, its a standard response when a Consultant sends out any letters etc and now nearing Christmas its going to be the same thing.
Do as Harry'sMom has suggested and email her and politely tell her how well you are doing.

She's just doing her job hun. They have to do the sales stuff and getting ex members back is another sale to them.
When my new C took over she rang round everyone who hadn't been for a few weeks or more and wrote them a letter too.
I wouldn't take offence, you may have continued to loose weight but I've seen so many people leave and rejoin my group countless times, sometimes a card or call is all it needs to get them back and that's more money in the consultant's pocket (which is why she does it!)

I just resent to constant stream of letters, I know exactly where she is if I can afford to go again and with Xmas coming she'll have plenty of new customers in the New Year. I'll just send her an e mail informing her of my progress, tell her that my financial situation hasn't changed and I will not be able to attend until it does.

This is why I couldn't be a consultant, even though I'd love to, I'd hate to have to pester people!
Like you say, you know where they are if you need to go back.

I agree with the other replies, email her explaining you've continued by yourself successfully and that you may rejoin in future finances permitting x

When I changed groups, I got a few emails from the evil C telling me that 'one of her stars was missing'....
It was a standard SW thing, but was annoyed as she paid me more attention for a few weeks after I;d left then she'd done when I was there.

Personally.

i would email her, or send a card back. Thanking her for her christmas card, and that you hope she is well. . and that you are pleased to say you have continued with sw despute not going to class and have lost over a stone. .. signed off with a ' wish you well for the new year..''

and then, i would i email sw, and tell them that since leaving your group, for financial reasons, your ex consultant has gone out of her way to constantly contact you, and that you appriciate it's a difficult time and that she need she's members, but that you do not appriciate her approach and that you feel she needs some support or someone to mention somthing about being so persistant.

sounds like shes struggling and she needs to not be so sales aggressive. . but i wouldnt appriciate how she's gone about it, and i would sure as hell not be happy about how she worded your xmas card.

And it definitely won't be anything personal because trust me a whole mailing list of people will have received them. it's that time of year when people start to think about new year resolutions and maybe losing some weight so i can see how it makes good business sense to do this.

I think that's what I'll do Fern, obviosly I don't want to be blacklisted from Slimming World (like they ever would!) but I sure as hell don't want to be hassled 6 months after I leave.

Shes a buisness woman, who is panicing, ina recession. Too many people loosing thier jobs and not able to continue with class. For her own sake, and if what you say about her generally not being a good consultant, the best you can do is contact sw and tell them she needs some support etc.

Really, the Consultant is only trying to make a living. She's been trained by SW to revisit her old member list regularly to try to get the members back. SW consider this good business practise and would think this Consultant is a good operator.

Some ex-members worry about re-joining and would be given a bit of encouragement to receive a reminder.
If you e-mail her, ask her to remove your name from the mailing list. She has to do it if you ask her to.

yeah i totally get this. . . BUT her approach wasn't professional, and she has contacted her far more times than needed, esp when she knows she's left because of financial difficulties. i think its worth contacting sw. . even more so if she needs more support delivering a good class in general.

She's keen hun, needs the business, and is perhaps over zealous. Don't take it personally, be polite in your response and don't let it rattle you.
