Because I need it! For two reasons.
Firstly, this is my first time with my new doctor since moving as I had to wait 3 weeks for a registration appointment with the nurse! So she may talk to me about my weight and stuff, which I don't really feel all that comfortable with. But at least I can point out to her that I'm doing something about it, and have lost 2 and a half stone, and am keeping going. Is better than before!
And secondly, I hate the doctors. I have problems with being really tired and stuff, amongst other things. My thyroid was borderline, and I finally managed to get medicated about 9 months ago, but it's made no difference at all. A friend has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and so does my sister, and they've both said that a lot of what I talk about is the same as how they feel. I get achey or muscle pains, for no reason. The sleep problems. The always feeling tired, exhausted is actually a better word, tired doesn't really cover it. I can sleep 8 hours, wake up and feel like I haven't slept at all. My memory and concentration is shocking, I'll get half way through sentences all the time and have literally no idea what I was about to say or what I was talking about. People actually comment on how forgetful I am! Well, friends anyway. I often feel sick, for no reason, though it passes. The gym yesterday pretty much wiped me out! I used to be able to do that no problem, but by 7pm I was falling asleep!
So it's a definite option, but I don't know. My doctor in the past was so quick to just brush me off, didn't even want to treat my thyroid. So not holding out much hope to be honest, but hoping she proves me wrong!
