Hiya all.
After being on maternity leave since 1st Feb, I'm back to work tonight!
I work in a care home so do different shifts but am doing a couple of nights to cover my friend who is off sick.
Anywhoo!
I start at 10pm and finish at 8am, I will be having dinner in about an hour, then was thinking of taking something in to eat during the night, apart from my yogurts lol
Should I take in a 'meal' or snacks???
I just dont want to mess it up, so any advice or tips would be gratefully received.

Hi there

I have never worked shifts but I think I would be more tempted to eat possibly out of boredom and tiredness. If you are busy I would say take snacks like yogurt and fruit but other than that maybe take packets like mugshots or savoury rice you can make if you really need them.

Hope that helps and good luck for your shift tonight. I hated going back after maternity leave but soon got into the swing.

I work nights and do a 10pm to 6.30am shift, i sleep when i get in and the latest i get up is about 3pm.

It's my first week this week and i have had my breakfast when i get up which has been fruit and free food, i have tried to avoid using hex's but might have 1 day.

Then i have had my tea as i would as normal at about 6.30ish using a hex and maybe a pudding if i am still hungry.

Then when at work i have had my break at about 1.30 i have fruit a muller yougart and my other hexb which has generally been either an alpen light bar or a sandwhich.

This week has been the first week i haven't eaten when i have got in from work because i haven't been hungry!!

I have a food diary if you want to look.

Thanks guys, snuggle i'll have a looksie now, I'm hoping not to do any more nights after Tuesday but we'll see.
I work in a care home so I'm not going to be constantly busy.
