Right guys so tomorrow i have overtime 2am - 6am ..... my normal shift starts at 6:45 so i have a 45minute window to have my breakfast which allows me more than enough time to go to the REC room and use the facilities - microwave etc which on a normal shift day i dont have time for.

Now on a usual shift day im up, have a banana then have muesli at 9:40 in my 10minute break. lunch at 1pm then tea at 6pm.

Now, this overtime - although good money - i need to get some sort of routine as im hoping now its near to xmas there will be alot more coming my way so here is my thinking for tomorrow ..... can you all please tell me if it sounds ok????? Im worried :sigh:

Up 1:15 ... banana.
6:00 ... 36g Quaker oats (apple &blueberry) made with 180ml semi-skimmed milk.
9:40 ... satsuma (usual breakfast time)
13:00 ... Tuna & boiled egg salad with 50g cous cous. LF Yog & Apple.
18:00 ... baked chicken & cooked vegetables

I know this is a change to my plan but ive got to get this sorted as i hope to do alot more overtime soon and need some sort of 'routine' for it.

Why 2 banana's? why not have a light alpen bar less than 70cals??? You will be grand, dont stress of course if your up longer you need more food but you will be burning more cals so it will even out.
 
No - dangerous games starting on the cereal bars - i could eat 10 of them which is why i need to avoid them otherwise id have one of the many nutrigrain bars we have here at home! :sigh:

2 bananas because i have 5 left and they are going off lol

I am proper panicking about this :(
 
But i dont have any other fruit and cant afford to buy more - i have my apple with lunch - so what else could i have at usual breakfast time?
 
Em I see i suppose 2 bananas for one day wont hurt hun! don't panic it will be ok you will survive the day. Do you tink you will have enough food in wat you plan??? Maybe have 2 oatcakes with some tomato and lean ham or low fat cheese???
 
ok panic over about the bananas - iv nicked a satsuma from the parents fruit bowl to have at 9:40 :) MUCH MUCH less carbs and a few less cals (according to me hand nutrion book! :))

I think i have too much - which is why im panicking!!! :sigh: oatcakes are a no no too - again its something i cant eat without munching loads so i dont want to put myself in that situation just yet. x

Babes its not too much at all. Your just panicking coz your used to only eating for a certain length of time. you need extra calories the more you do and remember on maintainance you need to gradually up your calories so this is a chance to do this. Just bring healthy food a little bit just incase it will stop you heading for the shops and picking something bad and you dont have to eat them unless your hungry.

Good news on the satsuma. :) give you some vit c. Maybe bring some carrot or celery sticks. You really aren't eating dat much it just looks dat way after being on the shakes.

YOU WILL BE OK, STOP PANICKING!

The only thing I thought was 1 to 6 is quite a long time inbetween esp if you are panicking.. Plus I dont think 2 bananas is going to hurt to be absolutely honest...they will keep you going plus are slow releasing so will keep you fuller for longer. It isnt like you will have 2 bananas EVERY DAY....

This is where you start to feel you are depriving yourself even of healthy food and will start to go "sod it", gonna have a biscuit cause my mate next to me has offered them to me!

You are doing well sweetie, just panicking a wee bit, which is to be expected.

Just looked at your menu again; why dont you have your LF yoghurt and satsuma around 3pm-4pm just to keep you going.

Just a wee suggestion......
 
Ha Ha - Tan - I want to come and give you a big hug!!!! I've missed you guys ......

...... Please don't think I'm laughing at you .... it's just it's so YOU - to be panicking when your plan shows you've got it all under control and - though you like the reassurance (as do we ALL!) you really do know what you're doing.

The 2 bananas wouldn't have hurt for once but admittedly the satsuma is better ... shame you had to womble it though and couldn't have just asked for and been given it - but hey-ho! xxx

Thanks Iris & Jan ... I do like the reasurance and do usually have my LF Yog & fruit 20mins or so after my lunch just to let that go down a bit. Its like my 'crisp' But usually im fine between 1 & 6 cuz of what ive had in the day ... if that makes sense which is why i think im doing so well not having 'carbs' in the evening.

:giggle: Jan! I didnt actually 'nick' it in all sense of the word, i always buy my own food and dont touch my parents - well very rarely - so i asked my dad - they always say yes but i didnt actually nick it LOL!

Anyways - off i go to work - satsuma in tow .... :giggle: :)

Aw that's all right then - I thought they were being meanies ;) :)

Had a BRILL time in San Francisco - just not long enough. I'd have prefered to spend the whole 9 days there but DH wanted to go to Las Vegas again (once was enough for me) and as he was paying ......... I'd go to Frisco again though!!!

Hope you enjoyed the satsuma ;) xx
