Go lower and cambridge

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone had any experience of the go lower plan and using it with cambridge?

I hit my goal weight a couple of weeks ago, then had two weeks off plan due to parties (awful timing I know). I'm now sitting steadily at 7lbs over goal (glycogen refill?) and wondering how best to proceed.

I have a new boyfriend who has just started the go lower diet and I think it would be good to do this together, it would mean we can eat together and support each other although obviously I would work up to maintanence much sooner.

I'm thinking it might be a good option because the step up plans for cambridge don't appeal and I'm struggling for the time for the cooking and planning (13 hr shift work). Pre-delivered packs would mean I can stick to it and eat/cook with oh as well... Also thinking I could substitute with the cambridge packs if I'm not keen on all their meals?

Any thoughts appreciated... xxx

I've no experience of the Go Lower plan - I shall have to Google it now BUT I do know this from reading most of the 'restarter' threads. Those most often restarting are the people who hit goal (or almost got to goal) and then relaxed and didn't come up through the plans. As most of the (failed) diets I have done in the past I always thought I knew better and could do it differently myself, this time I'm taking good notice of the plans as I don't want to be restarting in the future.
I think the hardest part is not the losing but the maintaining
Good luck with whatever you choose

Hi hun, I'm sorry I have no experience of this and no idea but just wanted to say I have been spreading your signature sentence around :) It's done me so much good and kept me on the straight and narrow, I am sure it will help others too!
Hope you and your new boyfriend get to your goals!

Hey Alex, good to see you're doing so well!

I've signed up to join oh on go lower and hope to lose 7lbs and then work up the maintenence plans. He likes to cook and with this diet you can follow low carb recipes instead of the meals as long as you follow it to the letter... I really want to reintroduce eating and cooking together back into my life (albeit slowly!) and it would be so much easier if we are following the same programme.

I'm just so nervous about changing plans! I wasn't happy taking a break from cambridge but events were more important and I don't regret my decision but at the same time I want to make sure I follow a structured path into maintenence. So nervous... hope I'm doing the right thing... but there don't seem to many others out there that have done something similar. Is KD about? I saw she'd checked out the go lower plan a couple of years ago and thought it seemed okay - that gave me some hope!!
