Hey guys and girls.

Quick intro. My name's Liam, and I a student in Wales.

I am wanting to make some life changes. Weight is one of them. At the moment I weigh about 22-23 stone and it is awful.

I have never felt motivated before, but recently I have had a real boost in my confidence and am learning to deal with other problems such as lack of confidence, anxiety, and depression (not clinical depression per se but I was offered anti-depressants).

Recently I have been learning more about myself as a person. What I never could realise were my good qualities of generosity, kindness, caring, intelligence...I always defined myself by being overweight.

I am really feeling I am ready to make these changes.

A little more about me. I am a student as I mentioned, with a keen interest in politics, but my real love in life is playing music.

I'd really love it if I managed to find some guys and girls in my age group (say 17-23ish) who could share there experiences.

Of course, I'd love you all to be able to help motivate me.

What kind of diet are you thinking of doing?

Have a read around the forums and see what everyone else is doing.

You might find something that appeals to you from healthy eating and exercise to joining one of the slimming clubs.

The way to make friends on this weight loss support forum is to post support for other members like saying well done when someone loses weight to empathizing with them if you happen to read something that strikes a cord with you.

Or if you feel very shy just start a weight loss diary and others will drop by to say hello.

im in north wales too , love politics but my main subject of interest is history & ww2. im a war geek lol. music is amazing i love all kinds

At the moment, what I am doing is working on reducing intake of certain foods. i.e crisps, chocolate, biscuits, cake. If I can go a week without them, I don't honestly think I will miss them. I think I get them more out of habit than anything else. So I shall change the habit.

After this week, I shall try cutting down or eliminating other things. I shall aim to get rid of frozen food (ie Birdseye, frozen chips) etc from my diet.

I don't really get a lot of takeaway food, only chips. That will be my next thing to try to eliminate.

I am taking it nice and slowly. If I change suddenly it might be a bit overwhelming.

In the long run, I am really just hoping for a well balanced diet, as part of a well balanced lifestyle.

Sounds like your really motivated to do well :D

I do the weight watchers points diet. It allows you to eat all the things you normally would but of course within moderation.

Slimming world is pretty similar too.
