Fish + Chip Shop fish

Although i have planned my meals today and have stuck to it - im on EE today. I have just been given a piece of cod from the fish + chip shop (im at work and there was a mix up with the office order). i have never had anything from chippy since being on SW and wondered how you would count it, or would i need to count it? i really did only eat the fish and very quickly put the batter and skin in the bin as it was so very tempting!!! Im hoping it will be free food?:confused:
 
The fish is free hun, providing you didnt have any of the batter as you said. Chips are quite high though Im afraid.

well done on throwing the batter and skin away - very strongwilled!!!
I think perhaps it is a couple of syns as some of the cooking fat must have been absorbed by the actual fish - maybe count it as 3 syns to be on the safe side???

Well done though i think you did really well for being so good! xxxx
 
in the book it says if you take the batter off the fish then its free you would only need to count the chips
 
thanks for your quick answers - i was hoping it may be free. But if it wasnt then it really ought to be ok as only a few syns. thanks again i feel good now as i soo easily could have eaten the batter it looked like it would melt in your mouth! Oh and no i didnt have any chips :)
 
I always have chip shop fish as a treat coz it feels like i'm being naughty but all free (without batter etc)! I love it when my people ask how I can eat chip shop fish on a diet. I dont like chips so I can have a syn free meal from chippie, oh how I love Slimming World!

If the fish has been properly battered, then it will be completely enclosed and any fat will have been absorbed by the batter as it cooks. The fish inside shouldn't have touched the fat at all.

Well done you - excellent will-power! Doubt if I could have thrown away all that batter, I just love it. I go past the chip shop on my way home from the gym on Saturdays - I have to take a deep breath and run past the door!
