Couple of general questions please

Hi all, I am not a RC dieter but a SW person, but many moons ago I did do RC and lost loads of weight with it 10 stone ish, so I know it works. There are no RC classess running in my area anymore so changed camp. Anyway, my question is, has anyone got the recipe for dry roasted potatoes which featured in a christmas magazine about 4 years ago? I had it for ages and now after a huge clear out cann't find it, so hoping sombody can help me out.
Also, are there people on here who are doing RC and not going to class or online (my funds are limited so cann't afford the lay out), and are you finding it easy using minimins as your only support? I am thinking of a change but not sure about the support on RC. What do you think?
Thank you in anticipation. Carolyne

I'm at work at the mo, but will definitely reply properly when I get back home!

And no class in Nuneaton???? blimey, I thought you'd have one there (I'm from Ashby originally so know the area)

Dry roasted spuds - peel and parboil in vegetable stock and dry roast in oven.

Thanks April, but this is not the one I am looking for. The one I am looking for had a stock cube crumbled up, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce and some other stuff too. They were fabulous and I am desperate to find the receipe again. Thanks for reply though.

Sarah,

We used to have loads of RC classes in Nuneaton, but not a single one now, its all SW and WW- mainly SW. Very sad. Nearest one is Hinckley.
Funny you say you are from Ashby originaly, I worked in Ashby at Threshers in the main street for a while after our branch closed. Far to near Woolies pick and mix for me though lol.
Small world.

oh the one I have has you boiling the potatoes with the stock cube and place on non-stick tray and lightly spray with oil. nothing to do with soy sauce or balsamic vinegar.

I have quite a few recipes out of magazines over the years so I'll check through them for you.

Yes, its a very small world!!!

right after searching nearly 3 years of rc mags and 2 rc books that all show the above recipe - in my final book I found the following:

boil potatoes in stock cubes
drain and place on non-stick tin and cook
dilute 1 tablespoon of soy sauce with 1 tablespoon water and baste potatoes after they've cooked

sorry it doesn't say anything about balsamic vinegar but hope its enough to maybe jog your memory

oooh sounds like a fab recipe will defo try that one!

do u know the cals and fat of it sarah?

also how much r the mags in class?

love katie

the recipe shows a mix of potatoes and parsnips that you boil separately

450g potatoes
8 medium parsnips
2 veg stock cubes (1 for each pan)
1tbs soy sauce
2 tbs water

is 106 cals/0.9g fat and serves 6

If you're a Premier plus member the mag is free. I don't know what it is to buy but everything else is cheaper than you would buy elsewhere so i'm guessing that is too.

Hope you're having a good week Katie :)

You are a star, thank you so much for doing that for me, blimey 3 years of mags, thats some searcing, but it did jog the old brain cells. Its as above, with 1 tablespoon of tomatoe puree and 1 of balsamic vinegar too, all mixed together. Toss potatoes in mixture after parr boiling and dry roast. They were rather delish.

Thanks again. Carolyne

ooo they sound good might have to try them soon :)

im doing the rosemary conley at home diet, i would go online or to the classes but like you i cant afford them really. I feel that i also need support and im hoping to find it here, so if you are coming back to RC i will definitely be a buddy if you want, or we can just set up a thread here something like Supporting those on the RC diet.

Also can i ask whats the different memberships for the classes, because if i have the money in the new year i ll join but i would like to know the various memberships and what they cost roughly if someone doesnt mind telling me.

Thanks

Hi Lizzie,

you can pay on the day which is currently £5.50, have premier membership which is £19 per month by standing order and for that you get your weekly class, reduced price magazine and discounted products bought in class and reduced prices to attend other classes to exercise or Premier Plus membership ofr £23 per month which includes your weekly class, unlimted extra exercise classes, free mag and larger reduction on products bought in class. With both of them you get exclusive access to Rosemary Conley.tv and both are fixed for as long as the stnading order stays active.

This is my local franchisees offer.

The prices are going up in January by 10p per class so I guess the premier/premier plus will go up by 50p if you join after then, but not if you join premier membership before.

There may be regional variations so do check with your local franchisee.

HTH and good luck with the weight loss

Ah right thanks thats not too bad, my boyfriend has offered to pay for me some classes so i ll show him what youve given me and i ll see what he says thanks for your help :)

I don't go to class or go on the site really. I bought the online kit, mainly for the portion pots and booklets. I already had the GI Jeans diet but got the others for extra recipes.

I started back in March and lost almost 2 stone when I did it properly (moving house, planning a wedding, having a wedding etc. threw me off track a lot!). I'll be starting it again soon.

With the will power, good prep and planning and support on here it can be done. Of course you need to push yourself to do your own exercise. I was going to the gym 2-3 times a week too and finally got the Wii fit set back up now. It's just self discipline :)

Hi ive just the whole post and now thinking of giving RC a try but one question.! DO U HAVE TO COOK EVERYTHING??

Im on ww but been on it to long im at GOAL want to loose about another 10 lbs fed up of pointing now.

Thanx

You don't have to cook everything - obviously in any diet if you chose the fresh option you have less salt, calories etc.

Also, in the New Year RC is bringing out her own soups and ready meals which you can buy online. My franchisee will also be selling them in class so others probably will too.

Good luck with whichever option you choose.

awww thank you sarah! what a lovely thing to say! xxxxxxxxxx
