Week 2 weigh in...meh, bit dissappointed :(

I lost 5lb's this week...that makes a total of 12lb's so far...to be honest I'd expected to have lost a stone by now...

Lacking motivation a little bit, but I'll be ok, I'm determined to carry this through.

Can I just ask though, to those of you who are almost at target now...I've a few questions...

1. Excercise or no excercise....I went walking a few times last week and then did some stretches and sit-ups after...is this good?
I know that excercise burns fat, but it also turns muscle into fat...so what kind of excercise is good for burning fat?

2. Why only 12lb's when some people have lost like 17, 18lb's by week 2????

I'm not due my TOTM for another week and I didn't step out of line the whole week.

I have taken dulcolax once or twice and got fibreclear today.

Any advice????

hi honey,

i think the worst thing we can do on this is compare ourselves to others! everyone loses at different rates and all manner of things contribute. TOTM is one, what you were eating before lipotrim another, how much water, how much exercise, what kind of exercise, how much you have to lose, and the way your body works!

could be anything! don't be disheartened 12lbs in 2 weeks is sensational and not many other diets could give you that. you will lose at your own pace and the beauty of lipotrim is it is relentless so you will hit goal sooner than any other diet.

exercise wise, i do wii fit and yoga type stuff for toning as i get very dizzy doing anything too high energy. do what feels right for you. Betsy Botox does loads of exercise and has amazing losses.

good luck hun - you stick with it! xxx

Hi:)

like sarahlou says 12lbs is good in 2 weeks! Next weigh in will more than likely push you over your first stone marker. Don't get disheartened, your losses are so far consistently big and this may carry on, lots of people (probably me too) will have a massive loss first 1 - 2 weeks then have really low losses week after week? Remember your only getting smaller:D xxxxx

As far as exercise is concerned I think it really helps with your losses but don't go mad! On my first stint on LT i was getting 2 - 3lb losses and then started swimming and walking and this went up to consistent 4-5lb losses plus it keeps you busy and makes you happier (releases happy chemicals in your body:)).

Good luck xxxx

It really frustrates me when people say they are dissapointed at a loss. Any loss is great - its a step in the right direction isnt it? And to say you are dissapointed at a 5lb loss this week and 12lbs over all is just not right. Seriously, what other diet do you reckon you could have lost 12lbs in 2 weeks?

You have considerably less weight than most people on a TFR which probably contributes to why you havnt lost over a stone like them ... but 17/18lbs to them is in proportion just like 12lbs is obviously in proportion to your body and your body weight.

Exercise; i didnt do any whilst on TFR and am now in my 2nd week of refeed and still havnt done any - dont plan to just yet either as its important for me to crack the eating malarky first.

ARRRRRGGGghhhhhhh!!!!

Ditto Tanya. Apart from chopping off a part of your body, what other diet would give you a loss of 5lbs a week???? I would understand it if you were losing 1-2lbs a week and getting frustrated, but for God's sake you've lost nearly a stone in two weeks?!?! Lipotrim 'promises' a loss of a stone a MONTH, which is only a guideline, as some (me included) don't lose anywhere NEAR that!!
If you're disappointed this week, I don't know how you'll cope with a (probably) smaller loss next week??

Irishmum....calm down. I understand you are frustrated, but I don't think there is any need to be so harsh. Like most people here my excess weight has effected my confidence and self-esteem, I certainly don't need to be brought down any further by agressive comments.

I started the thread in order to have some encouragement, and I thank very much the kind ladies who were encouraging. I suppose I just had far to high expectations of myself, which of course is ALWAYS going to lead to dissappointment. I am very happy that the scales is going down instead of up and will persevere.

Thanks again xx

i dont think irishmum is being mean, sometimes you just have to say something in a certain way to hammer the point across.

12lbs in 2 weeks is absolutely fantastic. dont ever be disapointed youve done awesomely :).

good luck for WI3!

The less you have to lose the less your weekly loses will be - as summergurl says people who lose 17/18lbs have more to lose than you. Look at my signature (not on LT but a similar diet) - I'd be delighted with a 5lb lose

My losses have been a bit up and down and you can't help but be impressed by others who have massive losses every week. It's easy to forget that normally you'd be delighted at losing 2lbs because maybe you expected to lose 4lb. I think you have to aim low then you'll never be disappointed and try to keep in mind that the inches are dropping too, not just the pounds. After the first couple of weeks when you really start to notice your clothes getting too big, it adds a motivation that is not purely loss based which I found really helped.

I'm sorry you took my post as harsh, but so many people have posted lately complaining about 'small' losses of 5-6, even 7-8lbs that it does get frustrating! :sigh:

If you'd lost 1-2lbs on wk 2, or even sts, then I might've been a bit more sympathetic, but seriously, if a huge loss like that is going to disappoint you, then you will need to do something to learn to live with possibly smaller losses or you're going to be disappointed week after week!

I'm sorry if I came across as 'agressive' (God, I don't think I've EVER been called that!?), but I'd have given (or chopped off! :p) my right arm to have a huge loss like that, and for someone to complain about it IS frustrating.

I completely understand about low self-esteem, I've had weight issues for most of my life, and even now haven't much self-confidence despite nearly getting to a nearly 'normal' weight for the first time in my life since I was seven years old.
But I have learned to be grateful and happy with what I've achieved, as I've done it myself, for myself, and can appreciate how hard it was to get here- as can everyone else on here.
I wish you the very best on your LT journey.

Yes I understand how frustrating this must be. 5lb's is of course not a small loss and I'm grateful to everyone for setting my mind at ease about that.

Irishmum...thanks so much for your understanding xxx

i think we have all suffered with low self esteem due to our weight issues so we're all in the same boat here. the thing that i think the disappointment is all about is when you first discover LT, you are 100% convinced you have found the magic wand we've all been looking for and your head is in the right place and you are ready to be your new self, but it still takes weeks & months!

i was going to have a gastric band this year before deciding to have one last crack at losing it myself (had a surgery date and everything! and backed out to do this) and even something as drastic as surgery wouldnt give faster results. i remember moaning to the boyfriend, saying "i know its the quickest way, but its not quick enough!" sometimes it feels that way and suddenly, you've been doing it for weeks, you're a shadow of your former self and you cant believe where the time has gone!

i found the 1st few weeks go painfully slow, even with fantastic losses but my god did it speed up!

no one is ever trying to be harsh on here, we pride ourselves on honest support and sometimes, with no expression or tone it comes across wrong.

sermon over! love lots! xxxx

hang in there hunny , 5 lb is a great loss , I am only in my 2nd week and am not expecting such a big loss this week , I lost 12 lb in my first week and that is probably because I was 18.5 stone so am a lot bigger than you and the bigger you are the faster you tend to loose in the beginning , I am expecting my losses to slow down to 2-4 lb a week and will be happy (not VERY happy but at least I am going the right way !!!!)
I know how frustrating it is , you make this huge desision and sacrafice the thing you (or I ) love nealry most in the world ( food ) , drink these nasty shakes and put up with feeling bad , and you want it NOW !!! I am so tempted to out a sign on my back saying I may be fat but I am getting thinner by the day !!!! I am embarrased more now than I ver was as now I am tackling it and facing up to it !!
Good luck with next weigh in and keep positive, we are all doing so well :)

Hi, well done you your losses. I must admit, my losses had slowed down to 3lbs a week, and i was complaining because it wasn't coming off fast enough, but I have realised that I have lost 3 dress sizes in just 9 weeks, so I have discovered its not just what the scales say, its the way you body changes shape almost every day, and everyday i find there's something new I can do that i couldn't do a week ago (such as walking a bit faster etc). I know its frustrating, and i think we'd all like to lose far more than is humanly possible, but your body will only lose with what it can cope with, so be patient, it'll happen, you'll see!! best of luck

Hi, just want to echo a lot of the sentiment so far. Well done on 12lbs in two weeks. I understand that you might feel a bit disappointed. When we browse this forum first, we read all the fab stories of determination and the huge losses that some people record week after week. Even though we know everyone is different, deep down we still think that this will be the same for me too!! So when it is not, we just have to get over our little let down and battle on to the next week.
You have felt like this this week and acknowledge that you have to move on and this is very positive of you. You are also thinking in the right way of what else can you do to help your losses. Exercise may help you but don't overdo it as you have very few calories to use so may push your body into starvation where it will hold onto all the calories.
I know that I have had to learn to have patience with this diet. As Sarah said, it is no magic wand. At the end of the day, it is a diet that facilitates a fairly rapid weight loss. So chin up and we will all battle on together.

Irishmum...thanks so much for your understanding xxx
No problem pet. I'll try to re-read my posts before posting them in future!!;):slap:

Remember- the main thing is- you're not alone!!:grouphugg:

Hi, my thoughts are the same as others, you have done great but I can understand you want more because so do I. Look at it this way though, you are only 2lb off losing a stone in 2 weeks. That puts it more into perspective to me. keep up the good work and you will have lost more than a stone next week, also if you fill in your stats you will see what percentage of your weight you have lost and that is more of a realistic comparison to people who have bigger losses, but more weight to lose xxx

Hey FinF - you have done amazingly well so far and its no small thing to lose so much so quickly. Just think that if you were on WW or SW you will probably have only lost that 5lbs (or less ) in 2 weeks.

Its very hard not to compare with other people - I know I get annoyed and jealous when others have big losses and I don't but I try to remember the big picture. Ok so a smaller loss means that overall the whole thing will take a little bit longer but I am still grateful for any loss. At least on LT we are "promised" to lose a stone a month - so much more than on any other diet program short of surgery.

I think that you should be so proud of your achievement so far - you are doing fabulously. In 3 weeks you will have lost over a stone in weight - so the first month could be a stone and half - thats amazing.

Revel (and not the chocolate versions) in your success so far that will continue for a long while yet :D :D :D

Hi Hun i totally understand where you are coming from but I need to make you realise something. The weight loss you had in the first week was water whereas the 5lbs you lost this week was FAT FAT all horrible yucky fat. Appreciate every single loss coz in a few weeks you will look back and realise wat you have achieved in such a small time. Week 2 is hard for many reasons you are coming down after a huge loss the first week and are met by a much smaller loss which is very difficult to deal with.

Take it from me do not compare yourself to others its incredibly hard not too but it only creates unnecessary pain. we are all different and just remember you mite lose more next week. Prepare yourself to lose 3lbs a week coz at some point your losses will slow down so best to prepare yourself now. definitely invest in a measuring tape coz some weeks wen you lose 2lbs or nothing knowing you have lost inches makes all the difference in your confidence and perserverance.

On the exercise note, in the first few weeks i walked around during lunchtime in work then as i went on i started doin long walks at the weekend and i got myself a vibroplate. I just started maybe 2 weeks ago to do situps and pushups etc everyday and to be honest they havnt made a difference but then again everyone is different try it out experiment do some light exercise one week and none the next and see wat happens but try not to get upset if one week you lost 1lb coz then you know not to do watever you did that week again.

Good Luck with your journey and you have alot of losses ahead they will all add up so quickly concentrate on the big picture and not racing to the finish line coz you will miss out on all the tings you can learn on this diet which will help you for the rest of your life.
