I lost 2 inches - WAAH!

Lady Marmalade

Bad girl warning...
:wavey:
Hey guys how are you all getting on? Just popping in to say 'hi' and I haven't forgotten you all. I'm doing really well on CCing, after a bit of a 'between diets' blow out on a weekend away I had put on a few pounds but since then I've lost 11lbs in 5 weeks and am just about to break through under the 11st barrier so that will be a huge milestone. I'm amazed at how well I'm doing, I wouldn't have believed I was capable of it but I'm right in the swing of it now.

Hope you're all happy and well and losing away, I've missed your chatter, the CC board is a LOT quieter than here!

I did have a bit of a set back when I first started CCing, though. I went to have my flu jab and the nurse wanted to weigh and measure me, I told her my weight and height but she wanted to do it anyway. When I said I was 5' 7" she looked like she didn't believe me and started measuring away. I said "Oh, yes, well it's either 5' 7" or 5' 6", somewhere around there... 5' 6 and a half?" I coud see by her face that this wasn't quite right, and then she said "Actually you're more like 5' 5"..." !!! I was absolutely horrified. I can't remember where I got the impression that I was 5' 7" but I've been believing it for years and years! I don't mind being shorter at all at all, I am what I am and all that, but of course my BMI instantly jumped a couple of points! Nightmare!

So I've adjusted my target weight accordingly - and suddenly had a whole lot more to lose. :(

Oh well, it's as well to know these things I suppose. Honestly, what kind of nitwit doesn't even know how tall they are?!

I may come back to Atkins for maint when I've got to goal, I still think it's a good WOE and seems to work as a maint programme. Plus I miss the chatter!

LOL me too Laura,

Hi LM :wavey:

Aww LM, i also thought you meant 2 inches off you're body.. bless you that must have been gutting! At least you know for sure now what you're aiming for though. And WELL DONE YOU for losing that much CCing, couldn't have been easy. We miss your chatter too, especially about sossies... ;)

I moved over to red days on SW yesterday as feel i need a bit of a change and with working so much recently it seems a little easier to fit in. I'll give it a couple weeks and see how it goes. If no joy i'll be back to atkins for the last push.

Hi, Lady M, it's lovely to hear from you. You're doing so well, you've overtaken me now!

What a disaster with you new found height, when you said you'd lost 2 inches I presumed you meant from your waist!

LOL yes Laura, that's where you WANT to be losing it from. Not the top of your bonce. :D

I'm doing well but have had a couple of set backs and will no doubt have some more before goal. We'll both get there in the end!

Hullo again Jim. :)

And WELL DONE YOU for losing that much CCing, couldn't have been easy. We miss your chatter too, especially about sossies... ;)

Thanks hun! The first week WAS really hard, but I'm used to smaller portions now and have found creative ways of cutting cals and making meals more filling, sort of like when I first started Atkins and had to retrain my palate. It's a lot easier now, I'm not going hungry all the time and have bags of energy, plus it's so nice to have bread again!

LOL and I can still have my sossies, just not the really juicy ones for a while! :D

My friend Tam lost loads of weight on SW, she thought it was the business so good luck to you & hope it works out for you. Are you going to meetings or just doing it online?

Hiya LM :D nice to see you back in here for again. me too I was thinking you lost inches in your waist or hips and etc.. LOL wow you make me want to and get my height done to make sure that I'm 5'4 LOL..

Well done on the CCing.. a friend of mine has lost a lots of weight that way and it works for her and it seems as if it's working for you... keep up the good work and you'll be a goal in no time. you dont have far to go.. big hugs

You're all dwarfs. :D

That's 'vertically challenged', Jim. :)

Hiya morena honey, well done on getting to goal AND maintaining, that's just as big an achievement as actually losing. I may switch back to low carb for maint, the closer I get to goal the more nervous I get about putting the weight back on. Maint is SCARY.

It is to begin with LM, but once you've been on for a while and successful it's great actually love. :)

yes LM it is scary and like you said you are worried about not gaining the weight back. the first month I said in my comfort zone with staying at 25 carbs or less a day. Now I'm much better and I know that I can't go back and eat how I did before but I know that I can have a day where I can have a big hamburger and fries and a beer but I know I can't do that everyday..I'm starting to think like a thin person and eat like one too :)

Superb, that's a great expression love.

Thanks Jim and I'm learning this maint. thing is all in the mind.. I'm determined I won't gain the weight back and I know this because I have changed my way of thinking.. Looking and you and others who have done this for years is inspiration

oh yes love, I never ever want to be fat again. :)

Ditto Jim :)

Morning LM, how was your weekend love?
