Energy drinks

Could anyone advise me if the likes of sugar free red bull is free onthe plan (as with diet coke etc).
I joined back last week and am finding it hard to follow, my energy levels are so low - have a 3 week old baby who is feeding every 2-3 hours all night and would rather take one of these drinks for a quick fix rather than reach for the biscuit tin.

The calories/carbs etc are the same as whats in diet coke.

thanks in advance

Hey hun, if your enegy levels are low, i suggest you speak to your health visitor and consultant. they may allow you more healthy extras in order to keep your wieght down but having the energy still?

xx

You should be having tons of extra HEX's if feeding your little one. Your consultant will have a leaflet which will advise you as to how many you are allowed.
Your energy levels shouldn't be too low hun and IMO, those energy drinks are not a good thing to be having. Have a banana for a quick energy boost chick!

Please don't drink energy drinks if you are breastfeeding what goes into your body goes into the baby and a hyper baby is not nice, as others said if you are breastfeeding you will get 3 extra healthy extras.

I didnt want to say anything in case you took offence, but i really do agree with the others, it really isn't best for your baby to be having your breastmilk if your drinking energy drinks, so much caffine etc..

you should already be having extra healthy extras yes? if your struggling for energy with what extra's your already having your should speak to your consultant and health advisor for advise on how to keep going with sw but without being damaging to yourself or your child. xx

I agree with the others, please speak with HV first before resorting to energy drinks. They really dont do you any good and certainly wont do little one any good either.

I know from experience that what you have, your baby has. Try changing their nappies after you've had a hot curry, or watche them sleep anf wake up grumpy after you've ahd a drink!!! Please don't have energy drinks. I have them sometimes. Great when driving, or need energy levels up short term, but like many drugs, will be followed by a worse slump!!!. Bananas are great!! Loads of fruit and veg and protein. ASpeak to consultants.
