Hey guys am a bit frustrated lost 2.5lb last week and according to my own scales have stayed the same this week although 2 days til official weigh in?? was just wondering if it would be ok to do maybe 40 mins a day on a rowing machine?? i been told its not actually cardio??:eek:

ok, 2.5lbs is not a low loss. Its a great loss!!! You cant be expecting to lose 4/5/6lbs every single week. It will all average out to roughly a stone a month. What other diet can you say that?

The exercise thing is entirely up to you. If you feel you are ok to start exercise then go for it. Although some say that doing exercise could slow your weight loss down as your body is only having 450cals a day and if your rowing then your burning off the vital cals that your body needs.

i use my rower everyday hun. its a great work out. it is cv but if u have it on high resistance your toning more than working ur heart. maybe start on 20mins though. u might find even that hard if u havnt been doing much exercise.

i know alot of people on here says exercise slows down weight loss but ive found it fine and am really happy with my losses. also by exercises you're increasing your muscle and toning so when you have lost your weight youll have a nice toned body left.

listen to your body hun, if you do 5 mins and you feel tired then thats enough to start with.

hey thanks for the advice girls and yes tan i know 2.5lb is a good loss but to stay the same the following week!!:( is really annoying!! and i feel like i'm stalling and not getting anywhere. arrgghhh!! thanks for advice on rower jen think i will start at just twenty mins and see how i go xx:)

but you havnt had your official weigh in have you. our weight changes all the time - which is why we should stick to weighing ourselves once a week, at the same time, wearing roughly the same clothes and on one set of scales :) dont panic, im sure you will have lost something by the time your weigh in comes :)

Every 2.5lb loss will add up, at least its a loss, good luck for next weigh in xxx

Awww Yummy Mummy, stay away from the scales until your official weigh in! I have known people stay the same and then the day of the weigh in the lbs magically disappear!

Don't torture yourself sweetie. I bet when you weigh in you'll have lost!

As for the exercise. I exercise every day. I started exercising to slow my losses down, so I could tone. I don't do any cardio (Other than running around all day after my family/work etc) I tone with free weights, static weights and exercise on the vibro plate. I was banned from the gym for 2 weeks when I had swine flu, and those 2 weeks I had my bigger losses.

So no, I don't think exercise will make your losses bigger. The rower is cardio. We are not consuming enough calories for heavy exercise. There is a chance your body could go into starvation mode if you burn too many calories. Exercise to tone your skin and improve your fitness not necessarily to lose more weight.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You're doing brilliantly. You're sticking to plan. You're drinking your daily quota of water. That's all you can do. Our bodies are strange bloody machines! They only lose what they want to but it all adds up over the course of a few weeks.

I too have had a few low weigh in i panicked too so its completely normal i started exercising again today after a few days off coz i felt horrible. Im exercising coz it makes me feel good an if it helps with the weight loss then yippy but i doubt it will. I hope you get a good weight loss maybe you have just hit a plateau then next week you will be back to losing lots. You never know our bodies work in mysterious ways.

You are doing very well. While you lost only 2.5 this week, you lost 6.5 the week before. Exercise if you feel o.k to do it. Even if it does not spped up your losses, it will make you feel better about it as you are being pro active.
