How Comes the cartons are ok as they have milk?

I was reading the ingrediance on the side of the carton and it says its made with skimmed milk - how does that work how come you cant have milk in tea or coffee but you can in those    Also can you put skimmed milk with the shakes instead of water from time to time will this knock you out of ketosis (not that i know i am in it) !!

I think most of the packs contain milk proteins as we have to have protein, but it is measured so as not to bring you out of ketosis. Whereas if you kept having it there is a chance you would come out of it and not lose weight. I think !

I think the packet shakes also contain milk, just a powdered form. I only drink the tetras as I can't stomach the packets and I am in ketosis, and losing weight.

Hope this helps.

If youo check milk, I believe all the carbs are made up of sugar as lactose.

Think Cambridge must remove the lactose element somehow from their shakes as low carb high protein.

Im sure a CDC will come along shortly and clarify!!:D

Hi all

Melissa is right, and the reason you can't add skimmed milk to your meals is that they are tightly measured so you are in mild ketosis not deep ketosis which means any additional skimmed milk could knock you out of ketosis. Doing the 790 programme can even knock some people out of ketosis as it allows 1/2 pint of skimmed milk a day, so it's really important to 'stick' to the rules as there really isn't a lot of room for 'manouevre'!

Hope that helps to explain

Skimmed milk is the protein base of all CD products. There is a limited range of lactose free products for those who do not have milk.

Everything is carefully balanced additional milk can affect the balance of the diet.
